Check Out Devin Bean’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Bean.

Hi Devin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started getting into filmmaking at around the age of 12. It all started when I got a Canon Powershot S3IS for Christmas. After that my eye for filmmaking took off. From filming skateboarding videos with older brother to making dumb skit videos with my siblings and friends. As I grew older, I got into it more seriously. Around 3 years ago I got into Paranormal Investigating. I then decided to start recording my adventures and make them into a series. After long discussions with my crew, we came up with a title for our series. That being Spirit Sessions. We started out on YouTube with a very low budget to getting better equipment and building into a more professional environment and setting. We attended Fear Con back in 2018 to give a panel about our show. We are currently in production! We have had major hiccups due to some teammates leaving and the current pandemic… BUT! We are shooting for a release date on Amazon Prime October of 2022! I started this out as a small passion project which has grown over the years and I’m so proud of my team and what we have accomplished. My wife and family play a huge part in my success and keeping my head leveled and not stressing out so much. I have so many upcoming projects I would love to talk about but I will let everyone keep an eye out! I will let you in on one little project, Monti’s Mysteries! A true crime podcasts me and my wife do together. We talk everything true crime, urban legends, paranormal anything horror you name it! We are currently recording the newest season which will be up on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube October of 2021!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a really bumpy road. From starting out having people who didn’t believe in me, telling me I wouldn’t get anywhere with what I do. To my house burning down and losing ALL of my equipment. There have been so many challenges in my life to the point where I did want to give up. But I decided to push through the struggles and it has paid off. Everything in life happens for a reason and I truly believe everything I have been through has made me stronger and the person I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m kind of a person who loves to challenge myself in all mediums possible. I create music, I am a filmmaker and video and audio editor! I also am into podcasting and live streaming on Twitch!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always a very shy kid. Elementary school I was very outgoing and had a lot of friends. It wasn’t until Middle School where me being shy took over. I went from having a lot of friends to having really no one. From getting bullied some days at school to just trying to enjoy life. I was really into Skateboarding and Video Games growing up. Skateboarding gave me such a good way to express myself and put myself out there more. Video games were able to help me teleport myself into a different world and experience many different stories.
