Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Robinson

Hi Greg, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Over 35 years ago, I was a student at SUU, newly married, with our first baby on the way. My brother-in-law owned a carpet cleaning company in Las Vegas, and he helped me get started in the industry. I rented some equipment from him, and he even purchased my first business license. Since he didn’t know what I wanted to name my business, he named it after his own—T-Bird Carpet Care—telling me I could change it when I renewed my license the following year.
What most people don’t realize about our name is that it doesn’t come from the college in Cedar City. It actually comes from my brother-in-law, Ted Bird. But the name fit Southern Utah so well that I never changed it.
From the beginning, I was determined to provide the best service possible for my customers. I attended numerous seminars and conferences to learn the latest and most effective cleaning techniques. Through those experiences—combined with years of hands-on work—I developed what I believe is the best cleaning method on the market.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned over the years is the importance of building relationships—both with customers and employees. Strong connections create trust, loyalty, and a company culture that people want to be a part of.
Today, I operate a fleet of six truck-mounted units with a team of trained professionals serving the Southern Utah area.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I built my business while raising my family, navigating all the ups and downs that life brings. T-Bird Carpet Care grew quickly and successfully, becoming the way I provided for my family. I had a passion for helping people clean their homes in a safe and effective way.
But in December of 1995, a fire destroyed the garage where I kept all my equipment. Overnight, I lost my entire livelihood. That Christmas, our family experienced an incredible outpouring of support from both our loved ones and the community. We received anonymous donations to help ensure our family had a magical holiday.
However, thanks to my wife’s excellent financial management and planning, our Christmas was already taken care of. With the support of our local bank, which knew us and our business well, we had what we needed to rebuild. So my wife—co-owner of T-Bird Carpet Care—and I decided to pay it forward. Instead of keeping the generous donations, we used them to help others in greater need that year.
After that, I focused on rebuilding the business. We faced many more challenges along the way, but the fire taught me a critical lesson in perseverance. That experience gave me the resilience I needed to grow T-Bird Carpet Care through every obstacle we encountered.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At T-Bird Carpet Care, our employees are our most valuable asset! We have an incredible team of professional technicians who are dedicated to providing the best customer service in the industry. They are honest, courteous, and highly skilled. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to serve the people of Southern Utah as effectively as we do.
Whether it’s removing everyday dirt and allergens from carpets, restoring tile and grout to its original color and luster, or freshening up a well-loved family room sectional, our team is knowledgeable, efficient, and equipped to tackle every job. With a fleet of six truck-mounted units, they can cover a wide service area, working individually to meet customers’ needs or teaming up for large commercial projects.
Our reputation for outstanding customer service is a direct reflection of our tight-knit team. They are the ones entering homes, building relationships, and ensuring each customer receives exceptional care. Our technicians take extra precautions to protect personal belongings and home interiors while setting up. They work thoroughly, cleaning deep and removing stains that others simply can’t.
One of our specialties is eliminating odor-causing elements trapped deep in fibers. Our pet treatment is a three-step process that leaves homes smelling fresh—not just for pet-related odors, but for any stubborn smells that have settled into fabrics. Our advanced system ensures odors are fully extracted, not just masked.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have often traveled out of state for conferences and training events, and whenever timing allowed, my wife would accompany me. Vendors were always shocked to hear that we had six children! One of the greatest benefits of owning T-Bird Carpet Care has been the ability to provide for my family—not just by meeting our needs but also by creating opportunities for them.
At one time or another, all six of our children have worked for T-Bird Carpet Care. As the family grew, so did our team, with spouses eventually joining the business as well. Today, four of our six children and two of their spouses are part of our company.
So, when we show up at your door, you can expect to be treated like family. As a family-owned and operated business, we extend that same sense of care, trust, and commitment to every home we serve.
