Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Sales.
Hi Josh, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is josh sales and I am a freelance videographer from Lehi, UT. I started videography 5 years ago and am now shooting over 200 music videos a year for artists like Mat & Savanna Shaw, Gentri, Madilyn Paige, Rise Up Children’s Choir and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I came back from my LDS mission in May of 2019 and also started up a side business called Christian Covers Official.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles of being an entrepreneur is not having consistent work. For example, in December I am SUPER busy shooting music videos just in time to release for Christmas but in January it slows WAY down. It is hard not having consistent work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I mainly shoot music videos! In 2021, I shot and edited 235 music videos for upcoming musicians and popular musicians here in Utah! I use a RED Komodo as my main camera (it is the same kind they use in Hollywood).
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I loved anything outdoors! I especially loved playing basketball with my friends. One memory that I will always cherish is in the summertime, I got 4 or 5 of my friends together and we did what we call “Little Caesar Runs”. We lived about 2 miles from a little Caesars and would hop on our bikes and longboards to get some pizza and load up on candy at a nearby grocery store.
I also loved being involved in scouting and church activities! From those activities, I learned some critical life skills that I still apply in my life today.
