Hi Joshua , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Joshua Elijah, and I’m an AI filmmaker and the founder of DGR8 Studios.
My creative journey started with a passion for storytelling. I’ve always been fascinated by the way great visuals can make people feel something, whether it’s through film, photography, or commercials. As AI technology evolved, I saw an opportunity to combine creativity with innovation and began teaching myself how to create cinematic films and commercials using AI tools.
Like many creatives, the journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced challenges ranging from learning new software and workflows to building an audience and establishing a personal brand online. There were times when social media setbacks and technical issues made the process frustrating, but those experiences taught me resilience and pushed me to keep improving my craft.
Today, I create cinematic AI commercials for different industries, including real estate, fitness, dental clinics, med spas, barbershops, and more. Through DGR8 Studios, my goal is to help businesses tell compelling stories with visuals that feel premium, cinematic, and memorable.
I’m still at the beginning of my journey, and that’s what excites me most. Every project is an opportunity to learn, create, and inspire others to embrace new technology without losing the power of authentic storytelling. I hope DGR8 Studios grows into a creative brand that helps businesses stand out while encouraging other creators to pursue their ideas with courage and consistency.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape me as a creative.
One of the biggest obstacles has been learning an entirely new field on my own. AI filmmaking is evolving incredibly fast, so I’ve had to constantly study new tools, experiment with different workflows, and accept that many ideas wouldn’t work the first time. Every successful commercial you see is the result of countless hours of testing, revising, and learning from mistakes.
Another challenge has been the equipment I work with. I currently create and edit my projects entirely on my phone. While modern smartphones are incredibly capable, producing cinematic AI commercials on a mobile device can be demanding. Large projects often push my phone to its limits, causing slowdowns or freezing during editing. It can be frustrating, but it has also taught me to be resourceful, patient, and efficient with my workflow.
Building an online presence has also come with challenges. Growing on social media takes patience, and there have been moments when account restrictions, verification issues, and algorithm changes made it feel like I was taking steps backward instead of forward. Those experiences reminded me that I can’t measure progress by numbers alone. My focus has become creating work I’m proud of and trusting that consistency will eventually open the right doors.
Despite these obstacles, each challenge has strengthened my determination. They have taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of continuing to create with whatever resources I have. My hope is that as DGR8 Studios grows, I’ll continue investing in better tools while never losing the mindset that helped me get started.

My work combines storytelling, AI technology, and cinematic editing to produce commercials that feel polished, emotional, and memorable. I’ve created concepts for a wide range of industries, including luxury real estate, restaurants, dental clinics, med spas, fitness brands, barbershops, and hospitality. Every project begins with understanding the brand’s story and then designing each scene to communicate that story through visuals rather than simply promoting a product.
What I’m most proud of is building my skills through persistence and continuous learning. Much of my journey has been self-taught, and despite working with limited resources, I’ve continued to create professional-quality projects while refining my craft with every commercial.
I believe what sets me apart is my focus on storytelling. AI is simply a tool; it’s the creative vision behind the camera that makes a film memorable. Rather than relying on technology alone, I aim to create commercials that evoke emotion, build trust, and leave a lasting impression. My goal with DGR8 Studios is to help businesses elevate their brands through cinematic content while demonstrating what’s possible when creativity and technology come together.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that surprises many people is that I’m largely self-taught. Everything I’ve learned about AI filmmaking, cinematic storytelling, and commercial production has come from countless hours of studying, experimenting, and practicing.
People often assume creating AI films is as simple as typing a prompt, but there’s much more involved. Every commercial requires planning, storytelling, prompt engineering, editing, music selection, pacing, and attention to detail. The technology is powerful, but it’s the creative decisions behind it that bring each project to life.
Another thing people may not know is that my faith has influenced the way I approach creativity. I believe stories have the power to inspire, encourage, and connect people, and that’s something I try to carry into every project I create.
I’m still early in my journey, but I’m excited to keep learning, pushing creative boundaries, and showing what’s possible when imagination and technology work together.
