Check Out Kiera Gregory’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Gregory.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for photography began when I was a young girl. I was always the one with a camera in hand, documenting everyday moments, family vacations, and our travels. As a military family, we had the opportunity to live in several places around the world, and photography became my way of preserving those experiences and the memories we were making together.

Over the years, friends and family constantly encouraged me to turn my passion into a business. When we moved back to the United States and my husband transitioned out of the military, I decided it was finally time to take that leap of faith. I never could have imagined what would happen next. Within the first two years, my business grew into a six-figure company, and I still have moments where it doesn’t feel real.

I truly believe none of this would have been possible without God’s guidance, the incredible support of my community, and the amazing clients who have trusted me with some of life’s most meaningful moments. Today, I have the privilege of traveling across the United States to photograph families, maternity sessions, weddings, and elopements. It’s an honor to tell people’s stories through my lens, and I still find myself pinching myself that the dream I had as a little girl has become my reality.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest struggles has been building a business without any formal education in business, marketing, social media, or entrepreneurship. I truly started from scratch. Everything I’ve learned has come through countless hours of research, learning from friends and mentors in the industry, trial and error, and a whole lot of prayer.

It’s amazing how much you’re capable of learning when you’re passionate about something and feel called to pursue it. While I’ve grown tremendously over the years, I still wrestle with imposter syndrome at times. There are moments when I question whether I know enough or if I’m good enough, but time and time again, God reminds me that I don’t have to have all the answers. Every challenge has become an opportunity to grow, and somehow everything always comes together exactly the way it’s meant to. Those struggles have made me a better business owner, photographer, and person, and they’ve taught me to trust the journey even when I can’t see the whole picture.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in warm, intimate, natural light photography that focuses on genuine connection and authentic storytelling. While I photograph a variety of milestones—including weddings, elopements, engagements, maternity, newborn, and family sessions—my most requested sessions are engagements, elopements, and maternity.

One of the things I love most about my business is that it allows me to travel. I’m always excited to meet my clients wherever their story takes them, and I love exploring beautiful new locations along the way. After recently relocating from New Mexico to Utah, I’ve been inspired by the incredible landscapes and endless variety of stunning backdrops that Utah has to offer.

My photography is about so much more than creating beautiful images. I strive to capture the emotion, intimacy, and connection that make each relationship unique. Whether it’s the quiet anticipation between an engaged couple, the excitement of expecting a baby, or the love shared within a family, my goal is to preserve those genuine moments so my clients have photographs that feel timeless, meaningful, and true to who they are.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting my photography business was, without a doubt, the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. I never imagined it would become anything more than a side business. I simply wanted to pursue something I loved and see where it led. Looking back now, I’m amazed at how much that leap of faith changed my life.

What began as a passion quickly grew into my full-time career. Through this business, I was able to support our family of five as the sole provider for more than four years while putting my husband through school. That’s something I never could have imagined when I first picked up my camera with the intention of starting a business.

Even today, owning a small business comes with uncertainty. You never know exactly where your next paycheck will come from, and that can be intimidating. But through every season, God has faithfully provided for our family, often through the support of our incredible clients and community. Taking that risk taught me that some of the greatest blessings come from stepping into the unknown with faith, hard work, and a willingness to trust the process.
