Check Out Lenni Uitto’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lenni Uitto.

Lenni Uitto

Hi Lenni, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a kid my Dad would goof around making little videos of the family. He’d show our adventures to Finland visiting his home stomping grounds. But It never really dawned on me to make movies, I really enjoyed them, and found solace in a good sci-fi like Aliens, or Mad Max or E.T. or an adventure like Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park. I got a Batchelor of Science degree in “Computer Science” and became a programmer. But something was missing from my life…and I would always have this desire to create something and I could never figure out how to quench my creative thirst until I started creating small little videos for YouTube.
Slowly my desire to tell a story came into frame. And I learned what it was I was missing in my life. And to start it out I made some short films on my YouTube channel “Xelot Film”. This lead to learning a ton about filmmaking and story telling. And ultimately making my first feature film debut “Permafrost”.

I love the process and the people I get to collaborate with who I now call some of my dearest and closest friends. Where it goes next is on to more great stories! I am now currently working on my next feature film as well as acting in a number of other feature films coming out in 2025! For me the key is to stay focused and always working to tell that story. To keep that creativity flowing strong!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No journey is without its bumps in the road but I think what shows resilience and tenacity is to be able to confront every bumpy road with the appropriate amount of creativity so that you can overcome those obstacles. The number of hard difficult obstacles are too numerous to count and give them their own section because ultimately the obstacles and things that make our lives more difficult are what help us grow and find satisfaction in our accomplishment’s. I like the Finnish word “Sisu” I think it is exactly how I feel about this. It is a term that can be roughly translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. Sisu is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain that courage.

This is kind of how I keep moving forward and always work to overcome any of the obstacles that lay in the path.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently I am an Actor and Filmmaker. I’m most proud of my first feature film Permafrost which is a story about a bounty hunter saving a little girl and finding redemption to his past. I’d say the biggest thing that sets me apart from others is I am in this for the story. It’s why I make these movies and it’s why I love acting. The story is where I find my passion, drive and satisfaction in this creative outlet.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
God, Family, friends.

Ultimately the relationships in your life are the most valuable things in this world and this life. They are the ones that will be there for you when you stumble and fall. They are the ones that will help provide motivation if you need it to get back up and continue your adventure in life.
