Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Elswood.
Hi Lexi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After I got married I was left wanting more from my wedding day after I got my pictures and video back and was surprised that my videographer kept telling people to put their phones away and I was sad non of my friends or family had extra pictures or videos. When I learned about wedding content creators I had total regret about not having one and new it was something people would want as an affordable alternative to a videographer or an easy addition to a media team for the wedding day.
I just started taking videos at friends receptions and started posting on social media that’s how if gotten all my brides and I’m wanting to get more in the event content creator space.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I still work full time so I haven’t gone all in or felt like I can make this my full time job. I feel like everyone wishes they could book more weddings but I’ve just started to grow on social media. It’s been a slow burn. I work as a social media manager so I always feel like I have all the secrets to grow and get down on my self\ put to much pressure on social media, but every person I work with or reaches out is exactly who I want to work with and mesh well with so I think I hit my niche harder than most people in the space.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a wedding content creator I give people a modern and creative way to relive their wedding day. I take iPhone videos and deliver galleries and social media ready edits with in 24 hours.
Im best known for my bts wedding day edits. Every bride loves how I capture moments with out ruining the moment. I always do my best to capture the moment in its entirety. The first dance that is a .5 second clip in the wedding video has the full video in the gallery folder that I deliver so they can have that moment forever along with what else is important to them.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The most important thing is have storage or a way to back up your phone through out the day. Never stop recording and feel like you’re getting the video they want to re watch. Sometimes I get to set on getting the clip to use in the edit but you should get the video they are gonna save and share. I always make sure every video I put in the gallery (close to 400) could be something they want to keep on their phone that if they wanted to show someone what their reception felt like they could. If they wanted the un edited version of the first look they have it.
