Check Out Manny A. Maldonado’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manny A. Maldonado.

Hi Manny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Venezuela, raised in Utah, and currently reside with my wife in Western North Carolina. I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, camping, and spending time with my wife & my two pups, Dodger & Remy.

I’m a landscape artist who draws much of my inspiration from my time spent in North Carolina and Utah. My paintings are created with acrylic paints on triple primed stretched canvas and cradled birch panels.

My works of art combine the best of Impressionism and Urban Sketch.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, not really. I’m self-taught, so it’s a learning curve. Learning to be not only just the artist but the CEO, shipping, business management, time management, a photographer, video editor, etc., etc. It’s part of the process. I think a lot of us artists struggle with comparing our work to others. If you do that, just stop and focus on your own work, focus on the art, does it make you happy? What drives your creativity?

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in acrylic landscape paintings at North Carolina. I’m known for impressionistic landscapes of southern Utah. I’m proud of hitting my goal of daily painting back in February. I set a goal in January 2021 to paint one painting daily for an entire year; fast forward to today; I’m on day 429. What sets me apart? My style for sure.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I was raised in Utah from when I was a baby up until 2019, when I moved to North Carolina for school. I love how it’s a melting pot of different cultures and my least favorite thing is the constant pollution lol.
