Today we’d like to introduce you to Nashelle Jackson.
Hi Nashelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Performing Arts has always been a big part of my life – in our home, in my community, through school both K-12 and college. When an opportunity came to take over the running of the local TaVaci Performing Arts Studio, we were excited to do so. We have a passion for sharing the Arts with everyone, and this program being geared specifically toward children and youth has done so much good for those who have participated.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like all other small business owners, our biggest hurdles have included getting regular studio space at the beginning, making sure we have fantastic teachers for our classes, and then the Covid-19 pandemic was a big blow.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
One of the things we love most about TaVaci is that our music classes are developmentally age-appropriate. We aren’t just throwing music at kids, we are giving them real-life skills and teaching them music knowledge that will help them however they choose to progress. The songs we sing are set in a key that is natural for children to sing in, the lesson materials build confidence while providing lots of opportunity for fun.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I enjoy being with my family the very most. We do everything together – performing arts, of course, but also spending time together at home or out on adventures.
