Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Cavazos.
Hi Nathan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started singing when I was a kid in my church. I started getting into creating music around 2022 when I created a band with my friends called “BeijaFlor”. We would play shows here and there playing indie rock however, I never truly felt connected to the music I was creating. It wasn’t until the middle of 2024 when the band decided to spilt and I started working on my own projects. I fell in love with experimenting with RnB and Singer Songwriter styles of music. I started collaborating with a lot more artists as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest setback I’ve had is losing my voice for a couple months. I was singing in a very unhealthy way and getting sick a lot to the point to where I couldn’t sing as high or as powerful as I used to. Since that point I am able to sing back to where I was however, it took a long time to get back to that point.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Outside of my own music, I also help write and produce for other artists. I’m able to play a couple of different instruments so I’m able to usually help with whatever is needed. I feel like one of my strong suit are my lyrics and harmonies. Im definitely most proud of my drive for creating. Whether it’s for myself or others I always want to create and I’ve never really had burnout.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the fact that Salt Lake goes through every season of the year and throughout it all, there is always something to do. The music scene has grown so much in Utah that at every corner, there’s always some event going on. There’s not much I dislike about Utah outside of its drivers haha. Please learn how to use a turn signal.
