Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Novak
Hi Nick, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Virginia doing gymnastics at my parent’s gymnastics gym and skiing at small resorts in West Virginia. When I was a freshman in high school, I got recruited to try aerial skiing at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. After a few years, I moved to Utah to further pursue my aerials career and, along the way, slowly started posting silly videos on social media. As social media started to take off it allowed me to focus more on my aerials career and support myself while sharing my life and world with my following.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Luckily, for the most part, it has been a smooth road; of course, there are challenges like injuries, financial strains, and emotional turmoil, but nothing that I don’t think everyone struggles with throughout their lives. I do find myself extremely luckily to be surrounded by amazing friends and family that I can lean on in times of trouble.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love creating content on the internet to share what makes me happy and what I hope other people will enjoy. As an acrobatic athlete, I like incorporating acrobatics into my videos to create seamless transitions during flips, spins, and other movements. I feel lucky to have incorporated my passion, aerial skiing, into my creative outlet to help build both avenues.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Honestly, my bar is pretty low. I view success in tandem with happiness. If I am able to live my life happily, then I am successful! That doesn’t mean that I don’t have goals and aspirations, but I like to enjoy the success of my happiness while I’m living in it. I live such a fortunate life and I don’t want the idea of “am I successful enough?” to cloud the fact that I am so lucky to live the life I currently am!
