Check Out Rebekah and Jason Baldwin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebekah and Jason Baldwin.

Hi Rebekah and Jason, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a travelling crystal shop that attends events, music festivals, and renaissance fairs all across the United States. It all sort of happened by chance that we got into the crystal business. My husband and I were travelling and happened across a backpack full of crystals that somebody had lost at a music festival. It was the end of the festival and everybody was gone except for just a few people. We went around asking everybody if they knew whose backpack it was, and nobody could tell us. When we took the backpack and opened it up we were astonished to find some of the most beautiful crystals we have ever seen. Clear Rose Quartz Towers as clear as can be and amazing rainbows and fractures inside of Quartz Towers. Just unbelievably beautiful pieces. Some of them we gave to our fellow campers at the festival and the rest we took with us. As we travelled the country, we mostly relied on rides by hitchhiking and camping at state parks. With our crystals, we used them as currency and went from one place to the next. Our travels began in Florida and eventually, we made our way to California where we began doing the weekly Ashby Market.

With each crystal sold, we ended up accumulating more and more crystals. Once we left the California area, we went to the Tucson Gem Show in the Winter of 2015 and then moved to Utah shortly after that. Here is where we established our business and truly found our flow with spreading the magic of crystals. They have helped us in so many ways and it has been absolutely amazing to be able to do what we do. We now are a country name and we are blessed to do what we love.

Since beginning our business, we have introduced our daughter Nala into the world. She is already such a bright light and loves all things

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. We have had many obstacles in our way. One of the biggest was definitely in 2019 when we moved to Florida and we were ready to take the area by storm doing so many awesome events, but then Covid hit. All of our events shut down and we were not able to make any money at that time through our business. We ended up moving back to Utah and readjusting our business model. It forced us to grow and adjust. It wasn’t easy but was definitely necessary. We have had money obstacles, but we have learned to take what we have and do with what we have instead of feeling like we are losing or drowning. It has helped so much along the way to take it one step at a time and trust in the timing and process of everything because so far it has always worked out. Maybe not on our timeline, but on the universal timeline.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My husband and I are known for spreading the magic of crystals and offering crystal singing bowl sound baths. We have an amazing following of people who look to us in the realm of vibration. If they are looking for crystals, we are their people. If they are looking for a wonderful, healing sound bath, we are their people When people come to our booth, they always ask us what each crystal does. We give their power back by telling them to trust their intuition and see what crystals are calling to them. Based on the ones calling to them we go into what the energies are that correlate with that stone. It is usually what they need in their life. We believe in the process of trusting yourself, trusting your inner guidance. We believe the stones are reminding tools to remind you of what magic you already have within. They are not here to fix your every flaw because you really don’t have any flaws and you are perfect as you are. Sometimes we just need a little help remembering that, and that is where the crystals come in.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely bossy. Always telling my siblings what to do and what to do for me. I grew up in Nebraska living in York, Superior, and a little town called Franklin. I loved piano, basketball, and always food. I wasn’t much into crystals yet, because my dad was a jeweler. I was just always around them and I tended to overlook them. It was easy for me to make friends and I was always trying to make people laugh. On the other end of the spectrum, my home life was a bit chaotic with 5 younger brothers and sisters. I loved being out in the world and really seeing myself as an individual. Working hard at a young age was a huge thing for me, between babysitting and my paper route. I learned the value of money really early on. Although when I went to college for a little bit, I lost that when I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, and didn’t want to just settle for anything.

My husband, Jason Hushin, was a shy kid, which is ironic because he is so outgoing now. He loved biking and playing with his friends and using his imagination. Typical boy stuff. His Dad was a Vietnam vet, so he travelled quite a bit in his early years with his Dad living in many places and countries. When he moved to Georgia as a kid, he was devastated when kids here were mad because they couldn’t get the newest toys, yet he saw kids so happy to play with sticks in the other areas he lived. It engrained such an image of what is important to him at a young age. He loves things, but he knows truly what is important in life. His clarity is inspiring to all that around him. He has always had the gift to make people around him feel important and loved. His gift of storytelling and adventure has allowed him to connect with so many people throughout his life.
