Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Weeks.
Hi Robert, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I believe my journey to where I am today really began nearly 10 years ago when I started working as a personal trainer. This is something I dedicated years to, helping thousands of people with their health & fitness goals, while simultaneously building my capacity to communicate, support & encourage people on their paths.
When the world shut down in 2020, gyms were one of the first places to go. I didn’t know at the time, but that meant my work was going to change significantly.
I had been learning about Reiki for several months at that point and had started facilitating a few sessions for family and close friends. When the pandemic hit, suddenly I had more time than I knew what to do with, so I branched out and started filling my calendar with Reiki sessions, diving fully into the practice. Soon, I realized I’d never be going back to the gym. I booked a ticket to Hawaii, sold everything I could, and flew into my new life, in June 2020.
From that point, I’ve dedicated myself to learning more about energy healing, sound healing, meditation, plant medicines, and how to create immersive experiences, where people can go on deep, healing journeys, and how I can support them through these modalities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not entirely smooth, by any means. These past few years have truly been a whirlwind. When I originally moved, some of my family were genuinely worried about my mental health, because they perceived my radical change as something so out of the ordinary, there must be something wrong. Add to that, many people expressed their worry as to how I would support myself.
It turns out those people were partially right… but only to a point. It took me about 6 months of work to become profitable, and not a moment too soon. If things hadn’t changed, it wasn’t likely I would have been able to stay. I just had to keep working, trying new things, and holding onto the vision, clearly moving in the direction I felt pulled towards.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Reiki Master, and I use meditation, as well as sound therapy, to create immersive, healing sessions for my clients and the groups I work with.
I am most well known for my sound baths & meditations, where I use singing bowls to aid in relaxation, calming the nervous system, sleep, and balancing your energy. My biggest milestone for my sound baths was to reach over 1,000,000 people in one month with my live streams, which I accomplished last year.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the work I do is going to become much more mainstream. As people become increasingly disconnected from themselves, and their health, I feel they’re going to start looking for alternative methods of care, as our medical system isn’t necessarily set up to help in these ways.
Mindfulness, becoming energetically aware, and being attuned to yourself and your surroundings can truly change your life and bring you back into a more balanced, powerful state.
I believe the benefits of meditation, Reiki, and sound healing, will become more and more apparent and accepted in the coming years.
