Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabina Pokharel.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After I came to the states six years ago, I started a small threading salon inside my husband’s warehouse in SLC, I did not know how to thread back in Nepal, I have learned that here!
When I knew about customer service and how to deal with people then we thought finding a new place would be a good idea! Then we moved that salon to American fork, in starting days it was pretty slow but within a few months business was good then we haven’t looked back!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, in our staring days we paid to rent from our pocket, lots of people didn’t know about our place, we used to work like 60 hours a week without enough pay! But after 6 months of opening, it was better!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Mostly Sabina’s threading is a place for facial hair removal by a thread! We don’t do waxing, we just do threading for eyebrows, forehead, lip, sideburns, chin, and neck! Lately, we have started doing eyebrows tinting (it’s a temporary coloring of eyebrows that stays like 2/3 weeks!).
We do Henna Tattoos as well! There are not many threading places in Utah County and we have super good, professional beauticians and people are loving us!

You need patience! Keep working, sooner or later your day will come!
