Check Out Sara Lunn’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Lunn.

Hi Sara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The beginning of my floral business actually started by accident, when as a flower lover, I designed the florals for my friend’s wedding while pregnant with my first child.

As any pregnant person knows, being on your feet for 9+ hours is not fun, but I found myself on my feet for 9 hours designing these florals, yet so incredibly happy and fulfilled at the end of the day! I knew this was something I loved, but it wasn’t until I had done another friend’s wedding ceremony arch and received photos from both weddings, that I realized this was something I owed to myself to pursue as a business.

Since then, it’s been over 7 years, 2 kids later, and hundreds of weddings & events designed, and I am still feeling the same passion for this business as I did on day 1. I’ve added a small team and we work out of my studio mainly on weddings, showers, installations, and corporate events!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles along the way in a small business, but I do feel that through every obstacle I’ve faced, I and my team have come out stronger for it and learned from our mistakes to do better the next time!

I remember the first time I bought the wrong candles for an event and had to replace linens or the first time I had flowers freeze in a broken cooler and had to rush to re-make everything for that event! It’s a little bit funny now, but at the time it was tough, and we had to keep a positive attitude and just keep going!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in event floral artistry!

Typically every year I will take about 20-30 events, mainly weddings, and my team and I will design everything from bouquets to centerpieces to large installations!

I’m proud of the work that I do, but when I really think of what I’m most proud of, it’s the trusted brand that I’ve built and the close-knit floral community that I’ve helped shape with a few like-minded floral designers here in Las Vegas over the years.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
I’m not a huge risk taker, but I’d say that over the last year, I’ve bet on myself and my business in some really huge ways. My husband and I decided that he should quit the job that he hated and take the time to be home with family more and figure out what it is that really gives him passion.

Through that process, I became the main breadwinner in our family and it was an opportunity for me to really push myself to work harder toward what my version of success looks like. After this process, I’d say it has all really paid off holistically in our family/the business, and I feel confident in the direction we are going.
