Community Highlights: Meet Andria Stubbs of Gemini Wealth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andria Stubbs.

Hi Andria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, my family wasn’t poor, but we didn’t have a lot of money. I distinctly remember having to hide the Taco Bell trash in a neighbor’s trash can if my mom took us out for a treat, so my dad wouldn’t find out. Money and finances weren’t a common conversation, and in fact it was a taboo topic to say the least. All this to say, I felt like money only existed in the context of fear, anxiety and scarcity. This was further perpetuated when I went to college, and instead of creating a budget to help address the concerns, I would refuse to look at my bank account. As long as I never got an overdraft notice, I was doing fine! But ignorance isn’t always bliss. I realized after graduation that I should meet with a financial advisor, and get my ducks in a row. He told me that I should make my money aggressive, and just let it be since I was young, regardless of the fact that it was my little savings that I had accumulated in the last few years. I ended up opening an investment account with him in fall of 2019. However, once markets dipped in March 2020, I reached out to him for help and guidance. His response: panic and sell everything, “salvage what you can”. Only reinforcing the fear around money.

However, I transitioned into the financial industry in August 2020, assisting another advisor, and I attended the American Dream Experience. This event changed my life, allowing me to see the truth in my relationship with money, addressing the past and scarcity with it, and allow myself to focus on my purpose for life beyond money itself. I was able to realign my goals and future, and establish peace of mind with my personal finances. Furthermore, I discovered the academic science of investing, and saw you can be involved in the markets without the speculation and fear I personally experienced. I decided that I wanted to become a financial advisor, and help as many people discover their purpose for their money while educating about the Nobel-Prize winning academics as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all, and I think that has grown my passion to help people. I started as a financial advisor at another firm, without any control or decision in that company. Over that time, I discovered the predatory nature of the industry, and saw what harm it can do. If I, an educated, licensed advisor, can still be impacted, what chance does the average person without the knowledge have? It became critical for me to take a stand against the dishonesty that can persist in the world of finance, and try to help people. I opened Gemini Wealth to be a true fiduciary, with zero conflicts of interest, and a passion to genuinely help people navigate the financial industry, regardless if they are actually my clients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Gemini Wealth, we’re more than financial advisors—we’re investor coaches, strategic partners, and educators. We rise above market noise and one-size-fits-all advice with a straightforward, academically grounded approach — rooted in evidence, integrity, and ongoing coaching — so your money aligns with what matters most. We bring a trifecta to your finances: a clear plan, an evidence-based, academically grounded investing approach, and ongoing coaching that keeps behavior aligned with the plan through every market cycle.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has a key role in building a business, but I see it through circumstances. Life will never play out exactly as you have it planned, for better or worse; if you get caught up in the day-to-day picture, you will never see the grander scale. There are many things, particularly in the past year, that have been a “bad day in the office”. Something I wouldn’t have planned or even wanted to consider. However, I wouldn’t be the leader and entrepreneur I am without it. It is important to address and evaluate the bad situation, of course. But I try not to dwell on it. For in every situation, there is a building block and learning lesson that will actually set you on the right path. So is it bad luck that it happened? Or good luck that I’ve ended up here because of it? That I can’t tell. But I do know that every step has brought me here, with an amazing company, and even better clients.
