Today we’d like to introduce you to Britnei Artz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At 27, I made the terrifying decision to pivot toward medicine. At the time, I was running a home daycare to stay with my two toddlers, ages one and three. Though I already held a Master’s degree, my background was entirely in the humanities. Entering medicine meant starting from absolute zero. For two years, I worked and raised my children by day, and took science prerequisites by night.
When I finally entered Naturopathic Medical School, our family dynamic fractured. I went from being present 24/7 to enduring 15-hour days of classes and late-night library sessions. The strain exposed the deep cracks in my marriage, culminating in my husband’s infidelity at the end of my first semester. While the marriage had been failing, the sudden dissolution of my partnership threw my life into logistical and financial chaos.
Suddenly, I was a single mother navigating full-time medical school. My ex-husband stopped paying bills and took our only vehicle in the middle of the night. I was awarded a home that was already six months past due and facing foreclosure. I survived on food stamps. I still remember the quiet, crushing humiliation of sitting on the floor, counting out twenty dollars from my children’s piggy banks just to buy groceries. Every single day, I stared into the mirror and asked myself: Can I do this? Am I strong enough? Am I destroying my children’s lives to chase a dream?
But crisis has a way of stripping away the superfluous and revealing who you are. For the first time in my life, I had to walk through fire alone—and yet, I wasn’t entirely alone.
I survived because of a fierce circle of women—classmates who became my lifeline. They carried me when I could not carry myself. In the trenches of medical school and personal ruin, we forged an unbreakable sisterhood. I learned, intimately, what it means to possess the quiet, indestructible strength of a woman. During the darkest chapter of my life, two opposing truths coexisted: I was completely broken, and I was absolutely formidable.
Today, that crucible defines my practice. I do not just treat patients; I heal women. I employ women. I raise women. Every ounce of shame, fear, and hardship I endured was converted into the clinical empathy and authority I use to advocate for my patients today. I did not survive that storm to be mediocre. I fought to become exceptional—because that is exactly what the women in my care deserve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What We Do & Our Specialization
At our core, we specialize in two of the most critical phases of the human experience: preconception/fertility and pediatric wellness. We guide families through the delicate journey of bringing new life into the world, and then we provide the clinical foundation to help those children thrive.
We are known for our deep specialization in restorative reproductive medicine and pediatric integrative care. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we look at the complex interplay of endocrinology, environmental medicine, gut health, and genetics. For our fertility patients, this means optimizing the health of both parents to achieve successful pregnancies—often after they have been told they have run out of options. For our pediatric patients, it means addressing chronic childhood conditions (from eczema and allergies to neurodevelopmental support) using safe, evidence-based natural therapies that work in harmony with the body’s innate physiology.
What Sets Us Apart
What truly sets us apart is our bridge between rigorous science and deeply individualized, compassionate care. We do not offer cookie-cutter protocols. We utilize advanced functional laboratory testing to investigate the root cause of dysfunction, but we deliver those treatment plans with a level of empathy and accessibility that is rare in modern medicine.
Furthermore, because of my own background, our clinic is built as a sanctuary for women and families. We understand the vulnerability of struggling to conceive, and the fierce protectiveness of parenting. We don’t just prescribe; we educate, advocate, and empower our patients so they are active partners in their healthcare.
What We Are Most Proud Of (Brand-Wise)
Brand-wise, I am most proud of our legacy of clinical excellence and the community we have built. We are not just a clinic; we are a generational practice. There is no greater honor than helping a patient overcome years of unexplained infertility, delivering a healthy baby, and then having that same mother bring her child to us for their pediatric wellness checks. We are proud to be a female-founded, female-led organization that employs brilliant women and champions the health of families from the very beginning of life.
What We Want Readers to Know
We want your readers to know that you do not have to accept “normal” as “optimal.” Whether you are struggling with hormonal imbalances, facing roadblocks on your fertility journey, or looking for a holistic, comprehensive approach to your child’s health, you deserve exceptional care. Our offerings—ranging from preconception counseling and cycle optimization to pediatric wellness and chronic disease support—are designed to meet you exactly where you are. We are here to provide the clinical expertise, the clarity, and the unwavering support you need to build a healthy, thriving family.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I foresee a massive paradigm shift in healthcare, driven by a patient population that is more informed, proactive, and unwilling to accept standard “one-size-fits-all” solutions. In the fields of fertility and pediatrics specifically, we are moving away from reactive disease management and toward true preventative, root-cause medicine.
Here are the major shifts and trends that will define our industry:
1. The Rise of “Preconception Medicine” as the Standard of Care
Historically, fertility care has been entirely reactive—couples only seek help after experiencing consecutive losses or a year of failed attempts. In the coming years, we will see a major shift toward proactive preconception optimization. Patients are realizing that the health of the egg and sperm in the three to six months before conception dictates not only pregnancy success, but the lifelong genetic expression and health of the child. Naturopathic medicine is uniquely positioned to lead this movement, focusing on cellular health, mitochondrial support, and environmental detoxification before pregnancy begins.
2. Pediatric Care Shifting from “Symptom Suppression” to Root-Cause Resolution
We are currently facing an unprecedented rise in chronic pediatric conditions—including autoimmune issues, severe allergies, eczema, and neurodevelopmental challenges. Parents are increasingly looking for alternatives to the “a pill for every ill” model. Over the next decade, pediatric medicine will shift toward addressing the pediatric microbiome, gut-brain axis, and environmental toxicities. The industry will move toward supporting a child’s developing immune system naturally, rather than merely suppressing symptoms.
3. Collaborative, Integrative Medicine as the Norm
The artificial divide between conventional and naturopathic medicine is rapidly dissolving. In the next decade, I expect to see highly integrated care models where reproductive endocrinologists (REIs), OB/GYNs, and naturopathic doctors work side-by-side. By combining the brilliant technology of conventional fertility treatments (like IVF) with the systemic, restorative support of naturopathic medicine, we achieve far higher success rates and healthier outcomes for both mother and baby.
4. Advanced Epigenetics and Personalized Diagnostics
With the rise of affordable genomic testing and advanced functional medicine diagnostics, treatment will become hyper-personalized. We will no longer guess at hormone pathways or nutrient deficiencies. We will be able to map out a patient’s precise genetic vulnerabilities and environmental exposures to tailor fertility and pediatric protocols with surgical precision.
The Bottom Line
The future of healthcare is empowering, collaborative, and deeply personalized. Patients no longer want to be passive bystanders in their medical care; they want to be active participants. Our industry is moving toward a model that honors the wisdom of the body while utilizing the best of modern diagnostic science—and that is exactly where my practice has always stood.
