Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Kuckert.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My entrepreneurial journey began when I started my first business as a broke single mom. I didn’t have a perfect plan or endless resources, I simply knew I wanted to create a better life for my family. Through determination, resilience and a willingness to learn as I went, I continued building businesses and eventually became an insurance agency owner in Wyoming.
As I grew, I realized that many ambitious women were also building their careers and businesses without the community, mentorship or support they truly needed. That realization inspired me to create SheLeads, a community where women can connect, grow their confidence and step into their next level.
What began as an idea with a few women meeting for lunch has grown into a national movement, including our annual SheLeads Summit in Salt Lake City. Today, I use my experiences as an entrepreneur,, marketing strategist and community builder to help women bring their own big ideas to life and create success on their terms.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I’ve experienced financial pressure, business setbacks, self-doubt and seasons when I had to completely reinvent myself. I’ve also had to learn how to balance motherhood, marriage and multiple businesses while carrying the responsibility of leading others.
One of my greatest lessons has been that growth rarely looks like a straight line. Some of my most difficult seasons forced me to become more resilient, trust myself and redefine what success meant to me. I learned that leadership isn’t about having every answer, it’s about continuing to move forward, making aligned decisions and being willing to evolve.
Those obstacles ultimately shaped the mission behind SheLeads. I wanted to create the kind of community I often wished I had: a place where women don’t have to navigate their challenges, dreams and next chapters alone.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SheLeads Women’s Network ?
SheLeads is a leadership and business community created to help ambitious women build meaningful connections, strengthen their confidence and take action on their next big idea. Our mission is simple: help women find their community, find their confidence and find their next level.
We bring women together through online resources, workshops, leadership development, mentorship and our annual SheLeads Summit in Salt Lake City. Our mentorship program gives women access to guidance, encouragement and real-world support from leaders who understand the challenges of growing a business, advancing a career or bringing a passion project to life.
The SheLeads Summit is a high-energy, immersive experience filled with honest conversations, practical education and genuine connection.
What sets SheLeads apart is that we go beyond traditional networking. We aren’t focused on collecting business cards or creating surface-level connections. We build spaces where women feel seen, supported and challenged to think bigger and where inspiration is turned into meaningful action.
Giving back is also an important part of our mission. Each year, SheLeads selects a nonprofit organization to support through our Summit. This year, we donated $1,000 to A New Dawn: Remembering Macey Dawn, an organization dedicated to supporting and protecting young people while raising awareness around domestic violence and mental health. For us, the impact of the Summit shouldn’t end when the event is over; it should continue in the lives of women, families and communities who need it most.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that SheLeads has grown into more than an organization, it has become a movement rooted in collaboration, generosity and the belief that there is room for every woman to succeed. Whether a woman is growing an agency, launching a passion project or stepping into a new season of leadership, we want her to know she doesn’t have to do it alone. There is a seat for her at the table.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk is an essential part of growth, but I don’t view it as being reckless. For me, taking a risk means being willing to leave what is comfortable when I know I’m being called toward something greater.
One of my first major risks came when I was a single mom with a steady paycheck. I didn’t have extra money or a large safety net, but I chose to leave that security and start my own business in a straight-commission industry. There were no guarantees, if I didn’t produce, I didn’t get paid. That decision was terrifying, but it taught me how resourceful, resilient and capable I truly was.
Years later, I took another significant risk when I sold the insurance agencies I had spent 15 years growing to pursue my passion for coaching and leadership development. Almost immediately after I sold, COVID happened. The programs and experiences I had envisioned could no longer happen as planned, so I had to quickly pivot and move everything online.
That season reinforced one of the greatest lessons entrepreneurship has taught me: taking the leap is only the beginning. You also have to be willing to adapt when the path changes. Moving online ultimately allowed me to reach and support women beyond my local community and helped lay the foundation for what SheLeads has become today.
I’ve learned that sometimes the greatest risk isn’t making the leap, it’s staying somewhere you’ve already outgrown because it feels safe. I evaluate risk by asking whether the decision aligns with my values, vision and the life I’m working to create. I may not always know exactly how it will work out, but I’ve learned to trust my experience, prepare where I can and move forward before every detail is guaranteed.
