Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Maire.
Hailey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My friend and colleague Taylor Madsen and I wanted to open up a therapy practice to help the community as well as the therapists that work there. We’ve been therapists for a combined 16 years and haven’t quite found that mix in any place we’ve worked.
We wanted to include a non-profit element to help make therapy more affordable. We started Xenia (greek for “helping strangers”) and have been having so much fun getting to know the people around us and helping our clients find healthier/more grounded ways to live their lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some struggles! Trying to let clients know where we are and what services. And the paperwork involved!
Have had to take time away from the work we love to do more of the business side but it’s been a great mix in the end.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a research-based trauma-informed mental health therapy practice. We have the amazing benefit of being able to help all ages and have therapists who love what they do and excel in their different areas. We love to use play therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), ART (accelerated resolution therapy), Neurofeedback, DBT, and MANY more therapy modalities. We love working with Individuals, Couples, and Families.
I think what sets us apart is we have different therapists who have their specialties, so with whatever you need you can be confident you are getting a professional who has trained in the area and has the experience needed to help you in your specific circumstance. Another thing is we try to offer our therapists the best support, training and help we can to make their jobs more enjoyable.
If places don’t do that you can end up with burnout, and not the best therapy experiences. We also have an amazing therapy dog named Maggie who is a great help with the clients (and honestly us the clinicians ha). Just overall I LOVE the energy of our office.
