It began as a small idea inspired by my passion for bringing seasonal magic to local communities and my ability to conceptualize creative marketing solutions. Starting from scratch, I combined my marketing expertise with grassroots efforts to quickly build a brand that resonated with clients seeking customized, high-quality fall decor.
What started as a local service quickly gained traction, culminating in a feature on Fox 13’s The Place, which showcased Pumpkin Porch Fairy as a unique and beloved business. The recognition validated the hard work and creativity that went into crafting not just beautiful front porches, but memorable Fall Festive experiences. One of the defining aspects of this success story is our commitment to sustainability—donating pumpkins back to farmers and ranchers after the season, completing a full-circle journey that supports the community and the environment.

The journey with Pumpkin Porch Fairy, like any entrepreneurial venture, has had its fair share of challenges. When starting the business, one of the first hurdles was raising awareness for a completely new concept for the entire Wasatch Front area —concierge Fall Festive porch decor, “Why Be Ordinary when you can be EXTRAORDINARY” is our slogan. Educating the community about what we offered and why it was different from DIY options or traditional decor services required creative marketing and grassroots outreach. Every successful Autumn and pumpkin front porch display became an opportunity to showcase the quality and uniqueness of the brand and our service.
Scaling the business was another challenge. As demand grew, so did the logistics of sourcing high-quality pumpkins, managing tight schedules, and ensuring every porch design reflected the brand’s commitment to excellence and extraordinary. Balancing creativity with operational efficiency was a steep learning curve, but it taught me how to streamline processes, work under pressure, and prioritize customer satisfaction.
Sustainability also presented a unique challenge. From the start, we wanted Pumpkin Porch Fairy to be about more than just beautiful autumn and pumpkin decor—it had to give back. Finding the right partners, to donate leftover pumpkins to farmers and ranchers required time and effort but was essential to staying true to our mission.
