Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Gibson.
Hi Hunter, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been fascinated by money ever since I was little kid. Intrigued by the idea, I started my first company when I was 14 years old. I was door-knocking on neighbors for grass-cutting clients. By the age of 17, I had to pivot. With the realization that college is just around the corner, and I would no longer be home for the whole season. I sold my clients and used that capital to start my second company at 18. I was able to grow it throughout the college summers. When I was in college, I started many different companies to try and make money. Some were profitable while others failed. These included a house flip, clothing brand, day trading stocks, and reselling items online. Throughout this time, I was able to learn from my mistakes and move forward. My last summer of college I was able to get the opportunity to work for American Income life. A life insurance company located in the S&P 500. This job completely took over my time, creating me to sell my second company at 22. I started selling life insurance over the summer and throughout my senior year. I learned an incredible amount about sales and came to the realization that sales are what I wanted to do. In my senior year, I was able to organize a trip of $500,000 with 1000 students to go down to Florida. With my financial knowledge, I know the Real Estate industry is where I needed to be. This is where I decided to become a Real Estate agent. I packed up my bags and decided to move out to Salt Lake City to start my career. On the drive out I passed my real estate test and secured my job on The Stern Team at Keller Williams. The top real estate team in the state of Utah. Not knowing anybody in Salt Lake, I have made it my mission to meet people and start my own real estate portfolio.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you start any company there are going to be struggles along the way. I have had countless of hard decisions and obstacles I have had to overcome. Out of all of the problems I have faced my most difficult one has been my long-distance relationship that I am currently in at the moment. While my companies have had problems, I was always able to find a solution even if it took me months. Because my girlfriend has one more year left in school, we are not able to be together for long periods of time. No amount of many can fix that. With every situation and struggle, I have been through there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Being able to learn from the mistakes and struggles are the most important part. While nobody is perfect everybody can work at learning from their mistakes.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am currently a real estate agent on The Stern Team with Keller Williams. As the top real estate team in Utah, we are exceptional at what we do. Which is helping people navigate the home process while creating the optimal consumer experience. I specialize in helping people find a new home for their family, where they will create everlasting memories. The biggest factor that sets me apart from everybody else is my work ethic and care for the client. The money is great but if I am not able to help a client then everything is lost. I am able to do this by putting their needs above my own and give them their fiduciary skills they deserve. I would love everybody to know that I am here to help anybody that has any real estate questions please feel free to reach out even if you just want a second opinion. I love the subject and can talk about it for hours.
What does success mean to you?
When most people think about sucess the first image that pops into their mind is money. For me, success is not about one thing. Success is about having every aspect reach its highest potential. For every person that looks different. But, for me that would involve having a family, being happy, having a healthy body, and having enough money to do what I want when I want. Now all of these things have not been accomplished yet but I am only 23 years old. Success is not made overnight. It is something that every person has to work for in order to achieve. Life should not be taken too seriously and live in the moment. Just remember today is the youngest you will ever be, and all billionaires will give up all of their money to go back in time and be 20 again.
