Community Highlights: Meet Juanique Grover of Provo Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juanique Grover.

Hi Juanique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Back in 2016, my husband, Tristin Roney, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at just 33 years old. We were thrown into the deep end of the medical world—chemo, radiation, terrifying statistics, and ultimately a prognosis that left us shattered. After a year of aggressive treatments with very little progress, doctors told us to prepare for the worst and continue chemo until the end.

But that didn’t sit right with us. We refused to believe that was our only option.

So we dove headfirst into research, driven by love, desperation, and a relentless hope that healing was possible. We began to uncover therapies, tools, and approaches that gave Tristin not only more time—but more life in that time. Together, we built a clinic rooted in what we learned: one that gave people options, answers, and the power to become their own self-healing advocates.

That journey grew into much more than a clinic. We launched the Gutsy Health Podcast, created online courses, and put out tons of free resources to empower others to feel good in their bodies again. We wanted to be the place people turn to when they feel dismissed or hopeless—offering not just protocols, but community, education, and tools that actually move the needle.

It all started with trying to save one life. Now, it saves many.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not.

There have been more bumps than I can count—and more than a few moments when I considered walking away. The hardest was after my husband, Tristin, passed away. We had started Provo Health together. In my eyes, he was the visionary—I was just the support. After losing him, I was left not only to grieve but to figure out how to keep the clinic alive and make it my own.

Shortly after his passing, my own health completely collapsed. I was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr, long COVID, and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. My immune system tanked. I was a widow, raising two children, running a business, and trying to pull my own body back from the edge. It was brutal.

There were days I didn’t know how I’d make payroll, how I’d cover the bills, or how I’d keep the doors open—especially because so much of the business depended on me. But the one silver lining was that I had built a clinic that helps sick people heal. So I used it. I became the patient. And slowly, I started to rebuild my health.

That experience gave me a deeper empathy for our clients. I had walked where they walked. I had felt the despair, the fatigue, the confusion—and that contrast sharpened my understanding. It helped me refine our protocols and tools. I saw what worked, what didn’t, and what our sickest clients really needed.

So no, it hasn’t been easy. It’s been an uphill climb. And when people ask me how to start a clinic like Provo Health—because they want to follow a similar path—I usually laugh and say, “Dream another dream.”

But in truth, as hard as it’s been, it’s also been profoundly fulfilling. Helping people get better, watching them reclaim their lives—that’s what makes it all worth it. The road’s been rough, but the destination continues to bring purpose, healing, and hope—not just to others, but to me too.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Provo Health?
At Provo Health, we specialize in helping people who have been failed by the traditional medical system. We work with the “medical rejects”—the ones who’ve been bounced from doctor to doctor, handed another pill, and told “everything looks normal” when nothing feels normal. These are the people who are sick, exhausted, and losing hope. And we help them find their way back to health.

We’ve become known for taking on the cases no one else will touch—chronic, complex, misunderstood conditions like CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr, chronic fatigue, hormone imbalances, autoimmune diseases (like Hashimoto’s and lupus), digestive disorders, and thyroid dysfunction. We also offer adjunctive therapies for people battling cancer—supporting their bodies through the process and helping them maintain strength, function, and vitality during treatment.

What sets us apart is that we don’t treat symptoms—we investigate root causes. We combine advanced testing with functional medicine, personalized protocols, nutritional therapy, and cutting-edge tools to help the body restore balance and function again. And we don’t just stop at in-clinic care—we’ve created podcasts, courses, and free resources so that no matter where someone is, they have access to support and education.

What we’re most proud of is the transformation we see in people who were once told there was nothing left to do. Our clinic gives them not just a plan—but real, tangible results. We help people feel like themselves again. That’s the heart of our brand: giving people hope, answers, and their health back.

If you’re chronically ill, confused, and losing faith, we want you to know you’re not alone—and you’re not out of options. Healing is possible. And we’re here to help you find your way back.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Truly, everyone at Provo Health deserves recognition. From the front desk team to our manager, coaches, nurse practitioner, and doctor—this business would not survive without them. Many of my team members have been with me for years, some even working alongside us when Tristin was still alive. They’ve seen the growth, the struggle, and the heart of this mission—and they’ve never stopped believing in it.

They’ve shown up on the hardest days, met the demands of a high-pressure field, and done it with grace, empathy, and love. They’ve listened to the heartbreak of our sickest clients, handled tough conversations with compassion, and held the vision with me even when things felt uncertain. I’m endlessly grateful for their loyalty, their integrity, and their brilliance.

Of course, I have to honor my late husband, Tristin, who was truly the spark that ignited this whole journey. He was brilliant—deeply visionary and incredibly intuitive. He was the original linchpin of this work, and even though he’s no longer here physically, his fingerprints are still on everything we do.

And there’s one more person I need to thank—my mother. She raised me in a world of holistic wellness, as a powerful example of what it looks like to live in tune with the body and nature. From a young age, she taught me that the body can heal when given the right tools at the right time. Watching her help others, teach, and lead in this field planted the seeds for everything I’ve done. Her influence runs deep in me—and in this business.

So yes, while I may be the face of Provo Health, this work has always been powered by a village of passionate, resilient, purpose-driven people. I am here because of them.
