Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Lawson.
Hi Lauren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
We met in 2004 while working for MAC makeup and have been friends ever since, and by happy accident, we both got pregnant five weeks apart. Of course, our daughters are the inspiration behind our brand, we wanted to bring our styles and creativity into the baby clothing world and bamboo is the perfect niche because it’s the best for babies!
We started working on Scoots in July of 2022 and launched in October, and here we are! We have a really fun online community through our Facebook VIP page for those interested, it’s a great community of mamas.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s too bad there’s no manual on how to launch a business perfectly the first time, right? Lol. We’ve definitely had our bumps, mostly figuring out the timing of our product launches.
It takes about 3 months to have a print made and shipped to us from overseas, so we are having to really learn to plan ahead to make sure we can keep newness and hype going within our brand.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in bamboo baby clothing which is known for being the softest and gentlest fabric on the skin. It’s ideal for babies with eczema but it’s so cozy that you’ll never want to go back to cotton! It’s ultra stretchy and durable so your kiddos can wear it FAR longer than cotton, and we designed it to be functional and versatile for mamas. Cause life is hard enough, you don’t need to battle with socks falling off your infants’ toes every 3 minutes.
We have a range of prints that stand alone in the market – we try to be very unique in our designs and we have some seriously fun stuff in the works that will be out later this year.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity!
We have worked tirelessly for the last 7 months on this brand and are committed to saying “YES!” to the opportunities presented to us. We’ve been lucky to have some really fun collaborations and are just keeping an open heart to what else is out there for us.
