Today we’d like to introduce you to Marki Hunt.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated nursing school in Salt Lake City in 2018 and started working in the Emergency Room at the University of Utah shortly after- during my first year working there, being over-exposed to illness I found myself with many colds and flus throughout the year. I’d always been drawn towards holistic medicine, nutrition, and alternative forms of medicine and practiced a more holistic approach towards medicine myself. After about the 5th or 6th cold, I found a provider in my area who administered Vitamin IVs, the most popular one being- the Myers Cocktail. After receiving them I stopped getting sick, and felt more energetic and more healthier all around. At that point, it only made sense for me to start a business in which I could share these with more people and spread wellness. We’re now over a year in and have expanded to other locations, have grown our clientele, and have the most amazing staff who are all inspired by and driven by a holistic approach to medicine using vitamins to boost immunity, recovery, and overall health! We love what we do, we love our products, and we’re obsessed with our clients!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly easy road?
It hasn’t been a particularly easy road. I started out as a nurse with plenty of medical experience but no business experience. While the business side of things did come fairly easy there were times when it was like drinking through a fire hose! There was so much that I didn’t know about business- I wish I would have listened to more people’s advice early on. I also have had a hard time setting boundaries with my business and how much I allow myself to work. For the first year, I worked 24/7 and kept dreaming of the day I could step away from more. I didn’t realize that I could have stepped away a bit more than had I created some structure with my schedule and how much I allowed myself to work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We offer mobile at home or in office IV infusions- we have IVs for everything from Athletic Performance and Recovery, Stress Relief, Stomach Flu, Hangovers, Over all wellness and even stem cells. We also do Vitamin D and other immune complex injections to help with immunity, seasonal depression, and energy! We are different from other providers in the sense that we come to you in your home, office, hotel, or other locations. We also specialize in events such as conferences, bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc!
I love to be able to offer health and wellness to our community in such an accessible way and I am overly proud of the team that I have created. You definitely know that you’re going to be getting an amazing, smart, personable, funny, and kind nurse if you book with us. My team is my backbone and I’m over the moon with how lucky I got to have them.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is measured by client satisfaction and employee satisfaction. If my clients are happy, rebooking, and telling their friends and my nurses are happy, loving their jobs, growing the brand, and inspiring new ideas then I feel like we are successful.
