Today we’d like to introduce you to Rylee Llanes
Hi Rylee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up watching my entrepreneur mother run her business and saw first hand that business owners have to juggle 1,000 tasks just to keep their business running smoothly, and often don’t have time for social media and marketing.
After being an art teacher for a few years and becoming an FBLA national champion in 2017, I decided to blend my love of social media, art, and business knowledge and start helping local businesses with their social media. I wanted to help people like my mom, who were passionate about their business and maybe just didn’t have the extra time to promote it online.
After about 5 years of working at internships, social media manager jobs, and completing a degree from Westminster University I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own social media agency in 2023.
The #1 thing I learned during my time as an intern and employee, was that social media managers often have to be a jack of all trades. They are expected to be amazing photographers, graphic designers, writers, and more.
But I found if you’re a jack of all trades, you end up a master of nothing. So, I assembled a team of artistic masters in their respective fields and have a team of graphic designer, photographers, editors, and more! I am proud to say we have helped over a dozen local businesses in Utah grow their online presence and digital community.
We are always accepting new clients and it is truly my dream to help as many businesses meet their digital and social media goals.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am a woman in a male dominated field, and every day I am learning how to not only defy standards and expectations for the spaces I enter, but hopefully for the women who come after me.
I’ve been in many meetings where the people sitting across from me have less knowledge or qualifications about social media than I do, yet doubted my experience, expertise, and ideas simply because I am a young woman.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m in the business of client contracts and proposals so I completely understand when I’m not the right fit or qualified enough. But I also know when I’m not being treated fairly.
I try to look for businesses and companies that make a clear and conscious effort to uplift women or other marginalized communities. Those are businesses I’m proud to partner with.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Rylee Llanes Social Media Services adapts our marketing strategy and plan directly based on your social media goals, business niche, and budget.
What makes us different from other social media agencies is that we don’t use the “one size fits all” approach like a lot of other companies do. You know the typical “post everyday and eventually the followers and growth with come blah blah blah”
A lot of people still try the same approach to social media they were using 2-5 years ago. Social media changes everyday, and we make sure we are always up to date with what’s ACTUALLY working.
When you become a client of yours we take a comprehensive deep dive to understand your business, what makes it different from your competitors, and how we can leverage that information through social media posts to create understanding and community for your digital platforms.
Because we know that being a small business owner requires you to be busy and dealing with a hundred other projects; we also take all of the stress off your plate and handle 100% of the social media cycle (brainstorming, scripting, creating content, scheduling) so all you have to do is approve the content twice a month and read your monthly analytic report to understand how it performed!
We are proud to say that in 2024 our social media efforts led to some small business success like:
•viral videos (ranging from 100k views – 1 million)
• ad generation bringing in new clients
• over 1,000 followers gained on a single platform
•decreased stress for business owners
•increased revenue for clients businesses
And more!
I want other brands to know me and my team of professionals would be honored to help take stress off your plate and uplift your social media presence in a way that truly connects with your audience.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as a reward for staying committed and disciplined. Often times it’s not a matter of “if” you’ll succeed, but when. So success really comes down to if you’re willing to not give up on your self and your goals.
