Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Huniu.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From being a Disney Princess to performing in front of an audience of thousands, my background in theater and music helped me combine my passions with the desire to build a positive community for women.
Six years ago I took my love for clothing, entertainment, and people and launched our family-owned online boutique. At the time my kids were 1 and 3, and I was looking to find something I could do from our house to support our family while having the flexibility to be with my kids.
In June 2016, my husband and I launched online our boutique. My goal was to build a community where women could support each other, gain confidence and most importantly create a positive community! What started in our bedroom in 2016 has grown into a successful online e-commerce business. We are currently in a 5500-square-foot warehouse and have 6 employees who help us run our business.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There have definitely been challenges, especially as you grow your business. We have moved our business four times due to needing more space to grow (a good problem to have!). Hiring staff for new positions as you grow has been difficult at the time. And as with many businesses navigating thru Covid was a big challenge.
We’ve been impressed with Ashley Roads Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an online boutique specializing in women’s fashion. Thru LIVE shows we are able to connect with our customers and really help them find the perfect fit. Our goal is to give our customers an amazing and seamless shopping experience. From our high energy shows to our top-notch customer service we truly love serving our customers.
What do you think about happiness?
First, in our business, I love hearing from our customers. How they feel in the clothing, how confident and good they feel. I am truly blessed to have an amazing husband (my business partner) and 2 incredible children. Owning my own business has given us the freedom to travel, create amazing memories, and gives me the opportunity to be with my kids!
