Today we’d like to introduce you to Zennah Landry.
Hi Zennah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career as a girl that had no idea what she wanted to do in life. After trying my first semester in college, I realized it was not for me and I heard about a massage school in my hometown, Lake Charles, LA. On my first day of class, I knew that massage therapy would be with me for the rest of my life. I have worked from local spas to the casinos and still felt off with what I wanted to do. Until I moved to Utah, with my partner and our two corgis! After a couple of years of working in spas in the area, I have decided to start my own business, The Zen Den Health and Wellness. I kid you not, this is one of the best decisions I have made in my career journey. Even though it has been up and running for less than a year, this has been a passion that I never realized I needed. I have taken elements and ideas from the spas that I have worked in and created a space that I can call my own and give a memorable experience to guests. I have seen massage therapy as more than relaxing. But it is an experience that everyone should have. As it opens new doors and emotions, it heals. I have cried with others over how they have felt after massages. Just creating a bond with people gives my heart so much fulfillment. Following your gut makes it worth it, it takes time, but it is worth it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say one of the biggest struggles is getting into the business mindset and teaching myself how to run a successful business. I would say as for getting new clients and word about my business is to be expected, a little slow at first but it’s getting there! I have good hopes for the next year!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Zen Den Health and Wellness?
Proud to say woman owned! I am a licensed massage therapist and I own my own massage studio. I specialize in Swedish, prenatal, and deep tissue. I love adding spa elements, like a table warmer, hot towels, and scented (or unscented) oils while offering great customer service. I love to run specials on new massage treatments every season and I always post new things on Instagram!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I feel like knowing your worth is the most important thing to being successful. You will find that you will be respected, and confident, and shows that you have the capability to achieve your goals.
