Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Pecora.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My names, Amanda I am content creator and Social Media Marketing Manager! Growing up I always thought that I would want to be a musician or singer, I actually went to college for a theatre degree. That was where I met my dear friend, Christina. At the time we were both in the same department (musical theater), and I later learned she was also an established model. She came up to me one day and asked me if I had ever thought about pursuing modeling, I had laughed off the thought, as I at the time did not see myself as very photogenic. Nevertheless, she persuaded me into doing my first shoot with an old photographer friend of hers.
I can still remember how nervous I was doing the shoot, I was shaking half the time we were shooting. Looking back at those photos now, makes me laugh because I can see how stiff and uncertain I was. I think that there was beauty in that first shoot, it was the first time I looked at photos of myself and was proud of them. They gave me a sense of empowerment, that I was beautiful. After that, I bought a camera and started shooting. Any chance I had, between classes, on weekends, with friends, and with family. I started to learn more about what I did and didn’t like when it came to composition. Eventually, I started getting asked to work with brands and companies around my college which led to more content creation and partnerships. Since then I have gotten to travel all over the U.S. to work with amazing brands, and create long-lasting relationships with other content creators and photographers!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the greatest struggles was I had to learn everything on my own. I didn’t know anything about pricing, reaching out to companies, etc. There was a lot of trial and error. Especially when it came to photography. Learning to get crisp photos and videos, and with TikTok and Reels being so prominent being able to create smooth transitions was crucial. My biggest advice is don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. Get a coach, take classes, and go out to dinner with other creators. Having like-minded people around you to help you and answer questions is crucial in growing not only your business but yourself as well!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Yeah, I am a travel content creator, based in Orlando, Florida. My specialty is, that I create content for brands and companies to promote their services and products through photos and videography. Although every collaboration is special to me, my favorite/proudest collaboration was my last trip to Utah. I got to not only work with multiple brands such as Vessi and GetYourGuide but I also got to meet my friend, Ashley Douglas for the first time, as she resides in Canada!
The Journey. Although I think that it is important to continue to build your business and wealth. For me, I think creating lasting friendships, memories, and experiences is more important that any partnership or collaboration I have!
