Today we’d like to introduce you to Berenice Martinez.
Hi Berenice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my journey with makeup very unexpectedly. I was working as a receptionist at 21 years old when I began watching makeup tutorials because I simply wanted to learn how to do eyeliner on myself. From that moment, I completely fell in love with makeup and beauty. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion.
At that time in my life, I wanted to feel more confident in my own skin and feel beautiful and feminine. Makeup became more than just products for me, it became a form of confidence, creativity, and self-expression. I first practiced on myself while watching tutorials online, then I started doing makeup on my sisters, my mom, and later other family members.
As my skills grew, I started sharing my work online because I wanted to show the beauty I was creating and everything I was learning. Being in front of the camera was very difficult for me at first, and honestly, it still challenges me sometimes. But I’ve learned that even if I’m shy about sharing myself, I genuinely love teaching, sharing makeup tips, and helping someone discover a product that makes them feel good about themselves.
One of the biggest challenges in my career has been learning to see makeup not only as a passion, but also as a business. I’m naturally very perfectionist and always want to improve, so I’ve had moments of self-doubt after working on clients, wondering if I could have done something better. But that mindset also pushed me to keep growing and refining my artistry.
Today, makeup means something very different to me than it did in the beginning. When I first started, I experimented with colorful and creative looks. Now, I feel more connected to soft, feminine, romantic beauty that enhances a woman’s natural features and makes her feel like the best version of herself. I want women who work with me to feel confident, elegant, and still completely like themselves.
I think what makes me different is that my approach to beauty is calm and intentional. I’m not the loudest person in the room, and my style reflects that softness. My content and artistry are rooted in femininity, confidence, and authenticity.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I emigrated from Venezuela to Ecuador, where I lived during the pandemic, and beauty became a creative escape for me during that difficult time.
Later, I moved to the United States with my son and had to start over once again. That experience taught me that we can reinvent ourselves as many times as necessary when we truly love something.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
