Conversations with Bryan Butterfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Butterfield.

Hi Bryan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been fascinated by the power of technology, design, and the creative arts. I have an obsession with the need to experiment with visual images. My craft must go beyond aesthetics and provide my clients with marketing opportunities. Early in my career, I learned the art of making human connections, and that is when my passion and success truly took flight.

I realized that the key to success wasn’t just about mastering technical skills, but about building genuine friendships and creating meaningful relationships with others. Through maintaining and building these connections, I have had the opportunity to photograph some of the most influential YouTubers, famous actors, musicians, and CEOs.

As my career evolved, I found myself traveling the world and collaborating with prestigious hotel resorts and top brands. Whether it was capturing the beauty of exotic destinations or creating impactful marketing campaigns, I was constantly inspired by the people I met and the stories they had to share. I love to work with new people and hear their perspectives. We can all learn a lot by listening and befriending people of all backgrounds.

Throughout it all, I’ve come to believe that the most important thing in life is the ability to connect with others and genuinely care for them. It’s this passion for human connection that continues to drive my art and inspire me every day.

I believe that the key to success as an artist is not just talent and skill. My genuine passion for creating content and making connections brought me to where I am today, and I’m excited to see where it will take me next.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There were definitely struggles along the way, both personally and professionally. Like most artists, I have faced mental health challenges at times. Mainly from the pressure to constantly produce exceptional work. As clients become bigger and bigger and more staff is needed, the stress of perfection increases. There is a lot more time and brain power that goes into being creative full-time. Most people might think artists sit around, or only do fun things.

But there is a lot that goes into it. Especially on the business side. This can take a toll on your mental and emotional well-being. On top of this, there are stresses that come with the job itself. As a freelancer, there are times when I’m not sure where my next job was coming from, or when the check would arrive. It is important to learn how to manage these feelings of self-doubt and anxiety and to expect those feelings at the different stages of creation. The excitement of a new project to the stress of meeting deadlines and fulfilling client requests. And when the job is finally done, it’s common to experience post-job depression.

But I’ve come to realize that these struggles and progression through that cycle are all part of the journey. As an artist, you have to learn how to push through the tough times and keep pushing forward. It’s not always easy, but the rewards are worth it in the end.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My specialization as an artist revolves around creating visual content for brands. My expertise spans across three primary areas – large corporate events, travel and hospitality, and the entertainment industry.

I’m most known for working for the new TV show The Chosen which has been sweeping across the world. I am the photographer who photographs the shows Actors and Actresses. Most notably the Black and White images that are seen on Netflix, Billboards, and across all the other platforms.

I’m also known for traveling and photographing resorts and corporate retreats at fun destinations around the world. Another fun client is working with a Brand owned by Mr. Beast and Derral Eves. I’m blessed to often rub shoulders with many famous online celebrities, artists, producers, writers, and filmmakers.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
As an artist, I feel grateful for the numerous opportunities I have had to travel extensively and interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Through these experiences, I have gained a unique perspective that cannot be acquired through any other means. By actively seeking to establish lasting relationships with people, I have formed profound connections that have not only enhanced my personal life but also influenced and energized my artistic creations.

In my interactions with people from different walks of life, I have come to realize that we are all more alike than different. I am eager to encourage others to see beyond the stereotypes and preconceptions that the media and sometimes even our own peers promote. Common ground between people is more prevalent than one might assume, and by embracing these similarities, we can foster greater understanding and appreciation for one another.
