Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Chapman.
Hi Camille, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Seven years ago, life brought me to an unexpected crossroads. After going through a divorce, I needed a way to supplement my income while still being there for my children at home. I’d always loved flowers—their beauty, their symbolism, the joy they bring—but I had no experience in floral design. What I did have was determination, faith, and a deep desire to create something that could help support my family.
What began as a simple idea soon blossomed into a calling. Step by step, and after much training and hard work, doors opened in ways I could never have planned. Looking back, I can only describe it as heaven’s hand guiding each decision. From finding the right clients at just the right time to receiving help and encouragement from unexpected places, miracle after miracle seemed to confirm that I was on the right path.
Today, my floral design business isn’t just a source of income—it’s a source of joy, healing, and gratitude. Every arrangement I create reminds me that beauty can grow from even the most difficult seasons, and that faith can turn uncertain beginnings into something truly flourishing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve loved this journey; however, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. I was lacking experience not only in floral design, but in confidence to promote my creations. I have eventually become more comfortable with my vision and more certain with the outcomes. I always tell aspiring florists to work for a floral designer before diving in, as this would have saved me much blood, sweat and tears.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Most of my work centers around weddings—the joy, the love stories, and the chance to bring each couple’s vision to life through flowers. While I adore creating bouquets and centerpieces, my true passion lies in large floral installations that transform spaces and leave a lasting impression. I’m constantly learning new mechanics and design techniques to keep my work fresh, creative, and structurally sound. What truly sets me apart, though, is the way I connect with my clients. I take pride in clear, caring communication and a genuine desire to understand their dreams—so together, we can create something unforgettable.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
One of the biggest lessons my floral journey has taught me is the value of saying yes—even when something feels impossible. In the early days, I took on projects I honestly had NO idea how to create (eek!), but each challenge became a chance to grow, learn, and stretch my creativity in ways I never expected. Those experiences built my confidence and reminded me that I am braver than I sometimes think.
I’ve also discovered how much I love exploring new ideas and techniques. I have found that the financial risk of attending a variety of workshops and learning from other designers keeps my creativity fresh and helps me connect with all kinds of clients and styles. This coming year, I’m thrilled to be traveling to Belgium for a floral design workshop—an incredible opportunity to continue my education and gather inspiration. I’m so excited!! Each time I attend a workshop, I make new floral friends from around the world!
