Today we’d like to introduce you to Club Mungo
Hi CLUB MUNGO, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Each member of the group has always had an interest in pursuing art and music since childhood. In 2011, twin brothers Devin Summer and NEDS met Bradley Cinema in Jr high school and they became fast friends. In 2014, the three met SLUG H.T.E. in sophomore year of high school and they became close. SLUG moved to the Salt Lake City area and met member Grandpa Sweats in a music class at the high school he transferred to. In 2018, SLUG introduced Grandpa Sweats to the rest of the group and they have been making music together ever since. Officially starting work on their debut album LODESTAR in 2020, releasing in 2022. In 2023 they released 8 songs and 7 music videos. Since 2023 they have performed over 16 shows. Their 2024 was relatively quiet due to them being deep in the creative process.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest struggles with keeping the group afloat have been adult responsibilities like conflicting work schedules and personal life issues interfering with time being put into the art itself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the end of the day we are a Band that specializes in releasing music, performing shows, and releasing music videos. We are known for our diy energy and dynamics between each of the members. We are most proud of the quality of work we put out in a local music scene where there isn’t a sound or visual style similar to us.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
The best thing in the world is finishing a whole demo in one studio session and everyone being excited and happy with their contributions that day.
