Conversations with Cole Pulsipher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cole Pulsipher

Hi Cole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve loved taking photos ever since 6th grade, when I snapped a picture of a sunset on my iPhone 5C. I was so excited about it that I wanted to show it to everyone. In my freshman year of high school, I saw one of my uncle’s cameras, and it inspired me to buy a Sony a6000. From that point on, I started taking photos everywhere I went, trying to replicate the work of my favorite photographers, Hayden Peterson and Peter McKinnon.

But everything changed during my senior year. While living in Texas and playing high school football, I got injured in our third game. Our running back fumbled the ball, and as I jumped to recover it, I broke my hand. Hearing that I’d be out for a minimum of six weeks during my senior season devastated me. I didn’t know what to do, but then I had an idea: I decided to film our rivalry game the next week. Nervous about what everyone might think, I brought my camera to the sidelines and made a highlight video of the game. To my surprise, everyone loved it.

After that, I created a new video every week, and soon, I started receiving requests from almost every sports team at my school to create their highlight videos. That experience helped me realize what I wanted to do for my career. After high school, I had the opportunity to capture all kinds of content. I started a social media series where I took a new photo every day and documented the process, which began to gain traction. Through this, I discovered my passion for helping others master their craft and build confidence in their work.

Today, I manage social media accounts, coach people on building their personal brands through social media, and capture content for weddings, real estate, business operations, sports, and more.

In conclusion, I’ve learned that God gives us trials to help us grow. If my teammate hadn’t fumbled that ball, I wouldn’t have broken my hand, and I might have missed the chance to discover what I truly love. So, appreciate the trials God places in your life—you never know where they might lead you.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges have shaped me. Breaking my hand during my senior football season was a big turning point. What felt like a huge setback turned into an opportunity to create videos, starting with a highlight reel that everyone loved.

Starting out, I also struggled with fear of judgment when bringing my camera to games and later with balancing the creative and business sides of content creation. But every challenge taught me something valuable and pushed me toward where I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in photography, videography, and social media management. I’m known for creating impactful visual stories, whether it’s for weddings, real estate, businesses, or sports. Despite challenges and setbacks, I’ve learned to pivot and grow from them, building a name for myself along the way.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine storytelling with strategy, helping clients not just capture moments but also build their brands and connect with their audiences.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the time my family and I went to San Fransisco and the entire time I was taking photos trying to capture it the best I could.
