Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Lee.
Hi Dennis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I majored in Art at San Diego State. I decided I can still paint and put my Artistic ability into Hair.
My Uncle is a world-famous Hairstylist and his Salon was on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in the ’80s. His name is Allen Edwards. My Uncles claim to fame is that he did The Farrah hairstyle on Farrah Fawcett for The famous poster in the Red One Piece Bathing suit. My Mom was in the business as well as my other Uncle. It was Legacy for me to be a Master Hairstylist. Then Allen opened up 7 Salons in Southern California and I started at Allen Edwards Salon in Newport Beach.
I’ve been doing Hair and being a Master Hairstylist for 30 years, Precision Haircuts, Color and Updo’s for weddings, Photoshoots and Fashion Shows in Newport Beach Ca. and now in Salt Lake and Park City as well as flying down to Newport Beach very so often to do my clients there as well.
I won the Honors of Top Hairstylist of the Year in California in 2014 and 2015 with “Making The Cut” Hair Competition against 3,000 other Hairstylists. Sponsored by Kerastase it was a live performance in front of a huge audience. E News was there as well as LA Times.
Recently for 2022, I was featured and aired on Park City TV. I got an interviewed segment on their morning show all about my legacy Career being a Master Hairstylist.
Since moving to Utah at the end of 2019, I am in the Utah Film Commission and I’ve done Hair for a few TV commercials and a Short Film.
I am also represented by Urban Talent Management in Salt Lake and have done hair for numerous Models and Talent.
Have been on stage around the U.S. teaching what I know to other Hairstylists, as well always further Educating myself by going to Hair Shows and Classes to make sure I keep up with the World of High Fashion Hair and use it in my repertoire for my clients.
I am so excited to be living and working in Utah. I love it here and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and my Career.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
2020 and the beginning of 2021 was hard for me as well as all my hairstylists’ friends in both Ca. and UT But things have gotten much better by mid-2021.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in making my clients look gorgeous and feel amazing about themselves.
I specialize in Precision Haircuts, Exquisite Hair Color, Gorgeous Updo’s, Wedding Hair, and High Fashion Hair.
I’m proud of Winning Hairstylist of the Year 2014 and 2015
I can visualize and achieve what cut looks best and what hair color looks the best for everyone.
I love all my clients, all the different lifestyles, all the stories and their lives I get to be apart of . Giving people joy and happiness in the gorgeous hairstyles I create for them . All day long at the salon we laugh and have so much fun . This is the pride I take in my career . It never feels like a job , it’s just such a joy to create and do something I love.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Being surrounded with such High Fashion people at an early age in my life because of my world-famous Hairstylist Uncle was the best luck.
All my other achievements of being a Successful Master Hairstylist was all my doing and my Natural Talent and being a true Artist
