Conversations with Eden Thompson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eden Thompson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was unfortunately raised in the middle of nowhere in the closed off world of wyoming, with absolutely no opportunity to grow or be yourself, and surrounded by very close minded people. I was always excluded and isolated at a very young age and knew I was different the second I wrapped a towel around my head and put on high heels with a couple barbie’s straight out of the womb. I moved in with my grandparents in Nevada around 14, which gave me a lot more freedom to explore myself. I started wearing makeup to school and changed my name to eden. I moved to Utah at 17, started hormones, got a major surgery, and now move through the world embracing feminity and self expression.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No matter where I am or what i’m doing, you’re always gonna have someone hating. I’m constantly being targeted by ignorant/uneducated people, ive had my life be threatened multiple times in person and people outing me in public to being set up by straight men to hurt me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I try and focus on social media and promoting my self image, currently i’m at Ulta and have been there for almost 5 years!
