Conversations with Erika Wiggins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Wiggins

Hi Erika, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I went to photography school in 2011 and shot professionally as a side hustle from my other business until 2022 when I decided it was time for a change. I worked in my previous real estate business for 20 years, and it took a toll on my health and life. Finally turning to my passion for photography has been a joy!

I specialize in architectural and commercial photography because I like the technical challenges they provide.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely, when I first launched my photography business, I still had lingering health issues to overcome, except I didn’t realize just how much they were sapping my energy. Once I finally figured it out, and got the right treatment, my energy increased and I was finally able to give my craft the time and energy it deserved.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in capturing images of the passion and details of people’s work. From products to buildings, I look for design details, craftsmanship, and beauty. I’m not afraid to let shadows accent light and color so images have depth and dimension.

I’m proud of my deep passion for small businesses which shows through in my images as I work to show of their work. It’s about caring enough to understand the work of creating so I can show off the process and results.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Collaboration is key to what I do. I like to meet with clients initially to understand their goals for the photoshoot, and again closer to the day to nail down what we plan to capture. This way when I show up, we have a shot-list ready and we don’t get bogged down in creating on the fly.

Pricing:

  • People are interested in the process of a business, don’t forget to show it off.
