Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Gittens.
Hi Gina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
A Little Piece of ZenVen was born out of my own journey to create peace in the chaos of everyday life. As a mom, wife, and businesswoman, I’ve had seasons where life felt overwhelming — like I was pouring into everyone else and forgetting to refill my own cup. What started as small personal rituals to ground myself — lighting a candle with intention, misting my space with calming scents, keeping crystals close — turned into a deeper practice that I felt called to share with others.
I officially started ZenVen as a way to offer modern-day women like me a gentle reminder to pause, reconnect, and nourish their spirit. Every product is intentionally made to help bring a little more stillness and sacredness into the day — even if it’s just for five minutes.
What started as me making self-care items in my kitchen turned into pop-up markets, an online store, and a growing community of people who crave calm and connection in a busy world. And while I’m still building and evolving, I know now that A Little Piece of ZenVen isn’t just a brand — it’s a space, a vibe, and a lifestyle that meets people where they are and encourages them to come back to themselves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road — but a meaningful one. Like many small business owners, especially those building something from the ground up while managing family life, I’ve had my fair share of challenges.
There have been financial obstacles, moments where I had big dreams but limited resources, and times where I questioned whether people truly saw the value in what I was offering. As a Black woman in business, I’ve also felt the added pressure of having to show up perfectly — which can be exhausting when you’re already juggling so much.
There were seasons where I had to put things on pause — whether because of life transitions, motherhood, or just needing to protect my peace. But each challenge taught me something: how to pivot, how to rest without quitting, and how to trust the process.
The biggest lesson has been knowing my worth and staying connected to why I started in the first place. That reminder always brings me back to center, even when the road gets bumpy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A Little Piece of ZenVen is a modern-day spiritual boutique with a luxury feel — a brand that blends everyday self-care with intention, mindfulness, and a bit of magic. I create ritual-centered products like crystal-infused candles, essential oil rollers, room misters, and more, all curated to support women on their journey back to themselves.
Each collection — Energy, Serenity, Self Love, and Sweet Dreams — is designed to meet people where they are emotionally and energetically. Whether someone is looking for grounding, healing, clarity, or rest, I’ve created tools that help them slow down and realign with what they need in that moment.
I’m most proud of the intention behind every product. These aren’t just candles or misters — they’re invitations to pause. To breathe. To create space for joy, reflection, and restoration in the middle of a busy life.
What sets ZenVen apart is the feeling you get when you experience it. From the branding to the packaging to the energy behind each item, I aim to create a peaceful, elevated experience that feels personal and sacred. I don’t just sell products — I create moments. And those moments matter.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by my ability to maintain a balanced life. While many people chase a “productivity equals success” mindset, I tend to follow a mindset rooted in flow and ease.
For me, success isn’t about how much I can do — it’s about how aligned I feel while doing it. When I’m grounded, present, and creating from a place of peace instead of pressure, that’s when I know I’m moving in the right direction. That approach helps me avoid burnout and stay connected to what truly matters in both life and business.
