Hi Isa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
4 years ago, right before the Pandemic hit, I created Tossled Hair and opened doors for business. I quickly grew on Instagram in 2019 while I was doing free hair services for content. I opened doors June 2020 and quickly got booked out months in advanced and remained in high demand since. My approach to hair appointments are like no other, taking Education very seriously not only for myself, but for my clients and viewers. I was seeking for more opportunities and packed up and moved Tossled Hair to Salt Lake City! During my maternity leave here in Utah, I began to post on TikTok and went Viral overnight from my Educational content for Hairstylists and the Public for DIY hair coloring techniques! Tiktok was what allowed me to begin my Travel Hairstylist journey today. I have demand now in states all over the U.S which has kept me busy since having my baby in March. Due to my increasing demand in traveling, I have yet to open doors for business in Cottonwood Heights. My goal is to open a private Salon Suite in Cottonwood for extreme hair makeovers as a Dark Hair Blonde Specialist. What I offer is not your average salon visit, my clients have kept me at a whopping 98% rebook rate which is why I know what I offer is unique and more than just a color service. Tossled Hair is dedicated to educating clients on proper haircare, color maintenance, and delivering inspiration photo results. Tiktok, Instagram, and YouTube have opened doors to opportunities i never thought possible. Landing my first ever affiliation with Wella Hair, I am eager to see what’s in store for Tossled Hair. I believe no dream is too big, the sky’s the limit.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a Faith based Hairstylist I am grateful to say my only struggle was within myself. I battled addiction for the past 13 years and I’m grateful today to finally have achieved sobriety. I stepped away for 1.5 years, in 2023, to recover and I closed my business, that was the toughest season I faced. Im in love with this industry, but I had to choose to pour into myself because I was depleted and lost. I am very fortunate to have a loyal clientele and following who have collectively helped me reach my dreams and keep me in high demand.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
When I was working for free in 2018-2019, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to specialize in yet. I was fresh out of Cosmetology school and I quickly learned that in my area there was a need for a Dark Hair specialist. I had no idea how I was going to become that so I began to invest in extended education by taking Color classes online and in person. I learned from one of the best in the industry who I look up to to this day, Guy Tang. So I narrowed down my focus and my clientele to fit this niche and I became known in Oregon as a Dark Hair Blonde Specialist. Since opening in 2020, I have had clients drive 4+ hours for their appointments, from within Oregon and out of state. When I closed down in 2023 to move to Utah, I thought I would lose all my clients, but today I am honored to say most of my girls waited for my return as a Travel Hairstylist today. I had my first trip back to Oregon this June, and was humbled at the way I was welcomed back. My clients say “there’s no one like you out there, id rather let my hair grow out than to replace you.”
What does success mean to you?
There’s enough success out there for everyone because there’s a client out there for everyone. We are all unique in our own way and what we offer is beyond just a service. Our clients return and rebook not just because of the work we do, but most importantly how they feel within our presence. Success is achievable on your own terms, there is no bar to success. Because we all have our own dreams and goals, you don’t have to have anyone else approve your life or approve your happiness. True success is found within you. How you feel every day when you wake up and get to go do what you love. Not only within your career, but your entire life.
Pricing:
- I offer major hair transformations by an hourly rate depending on desired results, current hair color, and budget. Clients can expect to pay anywhere between $80-$100 per hour for 100% delivered results.
- I only book hair color transformations, haircuts from shoulder length and longer, and strand test consultations.
