Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jolley.
Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began detailing with my mom at the age of 12. She cleaned vehicles for a dealership and I would help her. From that point forward, I was fascinated with detailing. in 2015 I started a detailing company in Salt Lake City called Mighty Auto Detailing and had great success, however, I was running it part time. It wasn’t until 2024 that I decided it was time to leave my career in higher education and take the plunge to start a full time detailing company. Luckily for me, my best friend Ethan Younger wanted to start the company with me and quickly hopped on board. Ethan and I started Dr. Clean Detailing with a pickup truck with a water tank in the bed of it, detailing supplies, and a vision to become the best in the industry. Little did we know that in only over a year, we would have the tremendous success we have had. Truly it comes down to a few things. Dedication, passion, and two best friends just having a great time running a business together. This has been our recipe for success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting Dr. Clean Detailing up and running has been anything but smooth. In fact, I would say every single day we have major challenges or obstacles that we have to overcome. This is where the friendship that Ethan and I have truly comes into play. At the end of the day, we just want to enjoy what we are doing. We find that when we don’t take everything too seriously, we often come up with creative ways to solve the day’s challenges. From equipment breaking over and over to securing funding for a company vehicle to employees who do not embody our company’s core vales–we see it all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Dr. Clean Detailing, what sets us apart isn’t necessarily our results. There are A LOT of great detailers out there! We are unique in the way we approach detailing. For us, it’s about the client experience from start to finish. We obsess over ways to make our client’s experience one they won’t forget. Where does this come from? Well, because I’ve been detailing for over 25 years now, I’ve come to see the flaws in the detailing industry and where it needs to improve. For this reason, one of the biggest trends I’ve noticed that is still a huge gap is that detailing companies often over-complicate the client experience and end up confusing them. At Dr. Clean detailing, we simplify everything and who them that we truly care about them and their vehicle. We don’t just say it, we show it! For example, we believe in educating clients on how to take care of their vehicles. We provide products and free demos so that they don’t have to call us every time they need a detail. At the end of the day, we truly believe in being a resource rather than creating a reliance on us. We want to be seen as teachers and educators in the industry who they can call when they need help, but also when they simply want a great detail but don’t want to have to do it themselves. We empower our clients so they know we care.
What does success mean to you?
Success is defined by the positive impact you have on others’ lives. We all have to work. We all have to earn a living, but there is no reason we cannot do it in a way where we grow together as humans and enrich our experience together. For this reason, one of our core values is positive impact. We feel successful when we have a positive impact on someone’s life in whatever capacity we can.
