Conversations with Lisbeth Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisbeth Perez.

Hi Lisbeth, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always believed that spaces shape how we feel. Growing up in Peru, I fell in love with colors, textures, and the warmth that thoughtful design brings. For over 20 years, I’ve worked in real estate, helping people see what’s possible — whether it’s opening up walls or adding windows to transform a home.

Traveling through Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean has shaped my design style. I achieve this by traveling, observing, and feeling — viajando, observando y sintiendo — blending what I discover into the timeless, cozy restaurants I now create throughout Utah and Salt Lake County.

When I design a place, I want people to awaken every sense — to feel warmth, connection, and a welcome they remember. Even a minimalist space can feel like home.

Today, I focus on commercial interior design, combining my real estate eye with my passion for spaces that people love, remember, and return to.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel very lucky — my path has been mostly smooth. In the beginning, one challenge was finding the right contractors who truly understood my vision and shared my standards for quality. It took time (and a few lessons) to build a team I trust completely.

Over the years, I’ve learned that every project brings surprises, so staying adaptable and surrounding myself with good people has made all the difference. Now, I have a team of professionals who know exactly how to bring my ideas to life and deliver the experience my clients deserve.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
**I’m not just a designer — I create little worlds. For 20 years, I’ve worked in real estate, tearing down walls (literally!) and showing people what’s possible. Now, my real love is designing restaurants and cozy spaces all over Utah and Salt Lake County that feel like you’ve stepped into a dream you never want to leave.

When people walk into one of my spaces, I want them to feel it in their bones — the warmth, the magic, the welcome. Minimalist or bold, every corner says: stay a little longer, bring your people, make a memory. That’s what I do — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.**

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up surrounded by beauty, music, and gatherings. My father designed fine furniture as a hobby — but he was amazing at it, and watching him sparked my own love for design. Our home was always alive with an eclectic mix of music and art, and we were always hosting people — in my country, gatherings are part of life.

That’s how I learned to be a good hostess — making sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Now, I carry that spirit into my own home, creating beautiful dinners for friends and family, just like I grew up with.
