Conversations with Nate Pack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Pack.

Nate, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a working artist and art teacher at multiple youth treatment centers. I have built clientele around the country and other parts of the world doing paintings of people’s dogs. I have found advertising through social media to be a successful way to connect with dog lovers. I participate in public art and local mural projects as well. I also sell my paintings at alternative venues – different from the galleries.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Never a smooth road – always a trial and error process to figure out what works. My art gets better with practice and production! They don’t teach you the business side or marketing at art school so I have stumbled around but stuck with it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do mostly original acrylic paintings on canvas of people’s dogs. They send me a picture that I work from. I try to make them colorful, stylized and playful. I like to work on many pieces at the same time to keep it interesting. I then ship the pieces across the country to the people.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I remember winning an art contest in my 4th-grade class and it was my thing from then on!
