Conversations with Parker Brandt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Brandt

Hi Parker, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I took a break from the local music scene about 7 years ago. I wrote & published a sci-fi novel (The Secret Future) and missed being in the studio and on stage. I decided to make some demos and met my bandmate Tyrell Gray at work. He was making music on his own and when I listened to what he was creating, I thought, “This song would sound good with some vocals.” We decided to join together and create TheDevilBelow, which is why you get a mix of styles and genres. It’s our own styles blending together to create an amazing unity of rock and metal with industrial and dubstep, and whatever we feel sounds good and what works. Every song is its own style. Which we enjoy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been pretty smooth so far. We have our first two shows coming up in October and we are so excited for them. It will be a blast to be on stage and putting on a show. We also have a brand new music video coming out soon as well. It’s for our single “Survive The Night”, off the album with the same name.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
TheDevilBelow is a multi genre duo from Ogden, Utah. Creating music in many styles, they have something for everyone. From hardcore metal to soft ballads to dance-type pop songs to dark industrial. They span across the genre spectrum. Their debut album “Gravity” and second album “Survive The Night” making waves in the local Utah music scene, their 3rd album, “Stab Me In The Back”, due out on October 7th, is sure to be a success.

The first show on October 4th is The Dark Arts Festival at Area 51 in Salt Lake City. TheDevilBelow will be the opening act for the 3 day event. The second show will be at Quarters in Salt Lake City opening for the touring band PIG on October 6th.

TheDevilBelow has also been seen in Jamsphere Magazine and can be found on all major streaming platforms as well.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be persistent! Don’t give up! Stay motivated.
