Conversations with TESS Myers

Today we’d like to introduce you to TESS Myers.

Hi TESS, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been learning new crafts since before I could walk I think. I have always loved to learn new things. I love a good challenge. While driving school bus, I had split shifts. So, in between runs I would teaching myself new crafty things. I joined a quilting guild. Learned how to quilt, and from there I came across a lady who was embroidering names on bath towels. I learned a few tips and tricks from her and took off from there. I have always had many projects going on at once. A friend led me to Panguitch, Utah where I found home. I really enjoy the people here and have just grown my little business with the support of my family, friends and customers. One thing to remember is this: When other’s tell you you can’t, RUN with it. Use it as your fuel like I did. I have always loved a good challenge.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has not been a smooth road. Many up’s and down’s. Twists and turns. And there have been many times I would have loved to get off this roller coaster. But what a ride it has been. Just look at where I am now. It’s a great feeling.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do machine embroidery, vinyl and sublimation. I love most to created unique designs. I love to also bling the denim jackets I make. I like to do small wood working projects, sewing projects, beading and so many others as well. I just love crafting of all kinds. If I don’t have it in my shop, just let me know what your looking for and I’ll create it. The feeling you get from watching someone’s idea come to life is such a great feeling.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’ll start with my grandma Dorothy. She was also a school bus driver. She taught me a few different things. Sewing was my favorite from her. Don’t follow others. She lived by that. She was always thinking outside the box. Made her own patterns of all sorts of things. Not just sewing. Then my aunts. They were always learning new crafts also. Something for us all to do. If us kids had an idea we wanted to try, they would helps us. Then credit to myself. I gave up a few times but then got right back to it. I struggled and learned different ways around what ever was giving me issues. I also learned how to work problems out while sleeping lol. I mean if it works it works.
