Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Andersen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was a teacher and did not love the administrative side of the work I was doing so my husband wanted to help. We found out about CNC lasers and it looked like a fun way to start a little side hustle so we dove in headfirst and never looked back! We experimented with a lot of different products until we landed on bucket list boards, wooden wall art that tracks your bucket list. We’ve made boards for visiting all the national parks, losing 100 lbs, and everything in between. We currently have about 125 products in our shop and it has been so fun helping people with their goals and bucket lists
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We started during COVID and were lucky to be pretty busy right from the get go. The seasonality of the business can be challenging and it’s a lot of work to keep up with orders during the holiday season.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love designing new boards. The process of creating a new keepsake for people to use to track their big goals and dreams is very rewarding. I designed a board for visiting all the national parks that I’m quite proud of.
How do you think about luck?
The luckiest break was starting the business at a time when e commerce was very popular. People were locked in their houses and spent a lot of time online shopping. This got sales going right away and we create a good product so the good reviews came pouring in as well
