Daily Inspiration: Meet Angela Propes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Propes.

Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After a life of traveling, getting married, more traveling, raising two great kids as well as rescue pugs and cats, the real adventure began in March 2010 when I finally launched my own business: farragio—my playful nod to “farrago,” a mix of many things I love. I started by sewing custom totes and embroidered toiletry bags in St. Louis, earning local press and a loyal following. By 2017, I felt a nudge to evolve. I’d been quietly perfecting an all-natural, nut-free face moisturizer for my daughter and me, and when I gifted it to family and friends that Christmas, the response was instant and undeniable. That one jar became the spark for farragio’s skincare line. Today, I craft research-driven, thoughtfully sourced formulas that put gentle, effective ingredients first. The best part? The conversations—listening to customers’ real skin stories and turning that feedback into products that help them embrace their natural beauty.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, my business has grown steadily. The tougher stretches were less about the work itself and more about the behind-the-scenes parts of running a business, such as learning the language of marketing and SEO. There have also been personal upheavals in recent years—navigating life events like losing both of my parents just six weeks apart and moving twice in two years, including a cross-country relocation. Those seasons in life have made me more grounded, and have also helped me in how I approach my work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make all-natural skincare with a focus on nut-free ingredients; no shea butter, coconut oil, or other nut-derivates. My formulas are crafted with ethically-sourced, natural and organic ingredients for women who want effective routines without mystery additives. What I’m most proud of is the trust customers place in me: I listen to their needs and feedback, and utilize a keep-it-simple approach to produce quality skincare products.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m currently researching the skin benefits of rice water and developing a toner that uses this simple, yet highly effective, hard-working ingredient. The result aims for clear, calm, hydrated skin in a simple, reliable step.
