Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Chavez.

Hi Chris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After building a traditional donut shop, I saw firsthand how many people were missing out because of gluten sensitivities and dietary restrictions. Friends, families and customers would come in excited- only to realize there wasn’t something they could safely enjoy. I never knew there wasn’t such a hole in the market for gluten free donuts. That never sat right with me. So I started over with a new mission: to create gluten free donuts that deliver the same indulgent, nostalgic experience people love, without compromise. After countless hours of testing and refining, I developed our own proprietary gluten free flour blend specifically crafted for authentic yeast raised donuts. Now when you walk into our shop you can simply enjoy incredible gluten free donuts alongside everyone else, because the texture, flavor and experience are so good, you’d never know they’re gluten free!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth because we knew there was a need for GOOD gluten free donuts, but they just didn’t exist. It took several months to develop our own proprietary flour blend that produced an incredible donut.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m just a home baker with a passion for baking. I think it must be in the blood because my grandmother back in the early 50’s had a pie shop called The Village Pie Pan in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles. She’d make beautiful cream pie that she sold for .25 back then.
