Daily Inspiration: Meet Heather Seay And Brighton Roper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Seay And Brighton Roper.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
With over 16 years of clinical experience each, we’ve spent our careers supporting women through fertility challenges, hormonal imbalances, loss, and the emotional weight of trying to conceive.
Now, we’re bringing that same depth of knowledge, care, and clinical insight into a 6-week class—so you can feel fully supported, deeply informed, and no longer left to figure it out on your own. This class streamlines what we’ve learned through years of clinical observation into a clear, strategic framework—bridging Eastern medicine and modern science. It’s designed to help you make sense of your reproductive health and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Intrinsic Fertility stands apart from fertility apps, clinics, and generic online programs by integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern reproductive science—offering live, clinician-led education that empowers women to understand and support their fertility holistically.
Brighton and Heather met circa 2012. Brighton has been providing acupuncture at Utah Family Acupuncture & Herbs since 2009. Heather currently provides acupuncture at Awaken & Bloom. Although we have known each other for approximately 13 years, we haven’t decided to collaborate until now. This class is the culmination of 16+ years each in the treatment room. And it’s the class we both wish existed back when we were in the thick of our own fertility journeys.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Despite having our own separate acupuncture practices, Heather and Brighton work really well together. A few short months ago we decided to create Intrinsic Fertility, and things have been falling into place. Intrinsic Fertility provides evidence-informed, integrative education to help women understand their menstrual cycle, reproductive physiology, and fertility options—bridging Traditional Chinese Medicine and biomedical frameworks to support informed decision-making and optimal preconception health. Our first collaboration is a live-taught (via Zoom) 6-week fertility class. The broader intention of our collaboration is to also offer continuing education courses to licensed acupuncturists. Chinese medicine is remarkably useful for patients struggling with infertility.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Brighton has been practicing Chinese medicine since 2005. While she was in acupuncture school, she experienced two miscarriages. Those experiences deeply shaped her path. In addition, she had the opportunity to support a patient throughout her entire pregnancy in the student clinic. From that point, she knew fertility was the work she was meant to do.

Heather started studying Chinese medicine in 2004 after years as a massage therapist. When she was pregnant with her first daughter, she received acupuncture and herbal support throughout her pregnancy—and it made such a difference!
What truly sparked her focus on fertility was working with a patient who experienced recurrent pregnancy loss due to chromosomal challenges. That experience showed her how powerful this medicine could be—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
If something is important to you, it’s worth the effort. This class is designed for women who are tired of piecing it all together on their own. Intrinsic Fertility aims to give them the clarity and confidence they’ve been looking for.
