Today we’d like to introduce you to Iggy Amoure.
Hi Iggy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fashion is an art form that allows individuals to express themselves in unique and creative ways. This is certainly true for iggy, a Nigerian American fashion creative, whos been expressing himself in the art industry with design, fashion, and commitment to community.
Iggy is a 20-year-old artist. I’ve always had a passion for art and self-expression. I was born to Nigerian parents in the United States, I was raised in a household where creativity wasn’t truly encouraged, and artistic expression wasn’t valued the way other traditional careers were. My passion for fashion design grew stronger at the age of 16 as I got older, and I decided to pursue it as a career.
I attended Granger High school where I met an art teacher that changed. My whole perception of fashion developed a unique style. I draw inspiration from God, imagination, life to guide my concepts, and my designs often feature bold and descriptive poems or pieces of art to relay messages words sometimes can’t tell. I try to use as many mediums of art as I’m allowed.
I’ve been able to have my brand a part of a fashion show at the University of Utah, black history month fashion show featuring Granger and Taylorsville.
The road to success for every individual is very unique. Everybody’s path is very different and struggling is the main part of everyone’s journey. One thing I always contemplate is being an introvert in a very extroverted world.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative in the state of Utah I like to put my creativity into forms of art that are tangible, and I also love to connect with my community, as well as establish different ways to create and connect. I create clothes and art about love and about God and about unity, I am known for my brand and for my engagement in the community as well. as my creative strategies. Styling performing artists such as Tyla Yahweh, Strick, and Peezy.
I am proud of the fact that I never gave up chasing my dream and I am definitely also proud to wake up every day and attempt to give God and the world my best version of myself. What sets me apart from others is I want to create something that all last, even after my kids pass, I want to create a legacy and an empire that lives on even when I can’t. My goal is to bring people to God.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I have not learned anything interesting due to the COVID-19 crisis because I started in 2021.
