Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Fury
Hi Joe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I can’t remember a time I wasn’t being creative it’s something I’ll do my entire life. I have an academic background with a BFA with emphasis on photography and 15 years of professional art industry experience and gallery/festival work. Currently I have been tattooing professionally for 3 years. My bold and unique style has influences coming from my connection to illustration, graphic novels, cats, anime/manga, and video games.
Becoming a locally renowned award winning artist my style has refined it technique and dramatic uniqueness during my life as an artist to stand out from the crowd!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is full of challenges and hurdles that have only made it more worth it to have the achievements and experience my art has brought me. Artwork has made my life have meaning.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently as an artist, I am a tattooer and painter as my preferred mediums. I believe I’m most known for my bold unique style and a secret language I’ve been including in my paintings and some tattoos (upon request) for over decade now. I find that this”language” has become my life’s work and something I’m exceptionally proud of. If it is deciphered the decipheree claims any piece of my artwork that I have in my possession. As of now no one has been able to translate the language but some folks have gotten close! The idea of sharing the context of my art through this language is what I would say sets me apart from others in my community. A future where I get to share these messages with my followers is a truly beautiful place.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’ve always been drawn to resources that educate me and teach me about the world we live in. I read a great deal of literature on the ocean, forests, myology and geology. Learning about where artwork fits into the world has been a passion of mine throughout my journey as an artist and something I feel guides me.
