Daily Inspiration: Meet Kimberly Jaramillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Jaramillo. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Kimberly Jaramillo

Kimberly has grown up with music all her life. Jose Jaramillo, her father, is a musician and has been in a band all her life and often took her to band rehearsals. She started singing lessons at the age of 7. She has a melodic voice that captivates any audience.

She began by singing at music recitals and is invited to sing at weddings and quinceañeras and sings the National Anthem quite often for sports games and conventions. She is training in Bel Canto and contemporary pop techniques. She sings Latino pop music and cultural Mariachi music.

Her family places high emphasis on maintaining their cultural roots through language, music, and respect for family. Music has motivated “Kimis” to further her musical experience by learning to play the piano and guitar. When Kimberly was nine years old, she received Second Place in the Elementary Category at the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza in San Antonio, Texas, singing “La Cigarra.”

Her responsibilities include helping care for her little sister Galilea. “Kimis” loves animals she has 2 miniature goats, 10 chickens, and 2 dogs Canela, and Nova. So, you see not all is music in her life, she cares for the animals, does house chores, and collects crystals. On a personal level, likes to take care of her skin with natural products and takes time to care for her exceptionally long hair.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle was maintaining the Spanish language, singing music in Spanish has been a training that has helped motivate me to continue speaking the language.

It would take many hours of practicing correct pronunciation with the help of my parents who both speak fluently, and my singing teacher.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Kimberly has always been singing along with big-time artists.

Currently, she is working on her project. She decided to sing Disney songs with a different flare adding a touch of mariachi instrumentation to all 10 arrangements. I guess you could say” She killed two birds with one stone” by using the same arrangements to record an all-Spanish and all-English album.

The only non-Disney song in the album and only in the Spanish version is “La Llorona.” She is proud of the fact that her father sings a duet in the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” Other songs include When You Wish Upon a Star, Beauty and the Beast, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Under the Sea, Kiss the girl, Remember me, A whole new world.

The titles of my albums are “Mariachi en Fanasía” and “Mariachi Fantasy”. When she hears words of encouragement from her supportive family it motivates her to do the best she can in school and her music and developing herself. Album “Mariachi Fantasy” will be released October 2023 check for updates on her website.

Words of Encouragement from the arranger producer Manuel Garza. I am from Eagle Pass TX, and my opinion on Kimberly Jaramillo is that her voice is Ineffable, and her interpretation of this project is perfect!! She gives Disney songs a whole new twist with her Mariachi Style (She Is Awesome!!)

My Vocal Coach: Martha A. Chavez. I have been teaching young people throughout my teaching career. Kimberly is very dedicated to her singing. She is a natural-born singer, children with her talent and qualities do not come around very often, especially now when the phone and internet take valuable time from the true development of young people. She paid her dues for her music at such an early age. Vocal Training, singing different genres and learning other languages, learning vocal recording techniques, and singing in front of audiences. She has experience under her belt.

Axios Salt Lake City, News. “Kimberly Jaramillo sounds like a Disney princess come to life. Little girls in the front row were reaching up in adoration, trying to touch her flowing skirts as she sang.”

What sets her apart from others is that. “Kimis” is involved in the church choir with her dad at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish in Taylorville, Utah. Her mother Lorena Jaramillo takes her to school and music lessons and oversees all her wardrobe for performances.

Kimberly is proud of her good grades in school at Entheos Academy where she attends, and her favorite subjects are art and history. She loves to pencil sketch faces.

Besides Music. What’s ahead for the future? She would like to be a Medical Dr. or orthodontist. She loves to travel and see many places, especially learning about her roots and learning about various cultures. She loves to visit her father’s ranch in Mexico “La Hacienda de Ururuta Michoacan” where he is from. She loves the outdoors.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
It is hard to say, luck will only take you part of the way. To be able to reach your dreams and goals you will have to be willing and help it along with a lot of challenging work of your own.
